Overview

3DBAE suits teams that need to create and publish interactive 3D product scenes from a browser-based workspace. Its breadth—from visual AI workflows to configurable viewers and AR—makes it a flexible option, but the free plan is best treated as a small-scale starting point.

Key features

Creation and configuration

Canvas connects images, prompts and AI tools for product imagery, video and image-to-3D generation. This brings creative steps into a visual workflow, though AI use is tied to monthly credit allowances on paid plans; Hobby has none. When an AI feature is used, required inputs and settings go to configured model infrastructure, potentially including prompts, reference media and a relevant project-state snapshot.

The configurator handles model and material variants, hotspots, animation, on-screen controls and interaction logic. A JavaScript Model API adds a route for programmatic integration. These tools suit product teams building interactive presentations rather than a static asset library alone.

Formats, publishing and integrations

3DBAE lists 12 import formats and 8 export formats, naming GLB, glTF, FBX, OBJ, USDZ, STL, PLY, SPLAT, SPZ and SOG. That range supports varied asset workflows, while teams with a particular pipeline should confirm that its required formats are covered.

Viewers publish for iframe embedding, and supported scenes can open in AR on iPhone or Android. Live Link connects Autodesk 3ds Max 2024–2027 on 64-bit Windows to a browser project and syncs the exportable scene. The Platform MCP server connects compatible AI clients through OAuth, with scopes approved for the task.

Projects start private. Sharing or publishing makes the scene and necessary rendering files accessible to people who can reach the resulting link or embed, so public distribution should be part of the publishing decision. 3DBAE says it uses access controls, scoped authorization, encryption in transit, credential hashing, signed asset access and logging. Support requests may involve processing contact details, messages and any files or diagnostic information supplied.

Pricing

Hobby is 0.00 USD per month, billed Free forever. It includes 100 MB of storage, one project, up to two models and two environment assets, with no AI credits. That is enough to explore a tightly bounded project, but the single-project and asset caps make it a poor fit for a working catalog.

Professional costs 12.00 USD per month and provides 5 GB storage, unlimited projects and configurator assets, plus 1,000 AI credits/month. It is the entry paid tier for ongoing configuration work, although its credit allowance is modest relative to the higher plans.

Creator AI costs 24.00 USD per month, with 10 GB storage, 15,000 AI credits/month, two parallel generations and team collaboration. Extra seats are sold separately, so teams should account for seat costs as well as the monthly plan price.

Studio AI costs 59.00 USD per month and raises storage to 50 GB and credits to 36,000/month, allows four parallel generations and adds a 10% bonus on credit packs. It is the clearest fit for higher-volume AI workflows; the published plan facts do not state a seat allowance for this tier.

Platforms

3DBAE supports web, Android, iOS, Windows and API access. The browser workspace is the center of the authoring and publishing proposition, while supported published scenes can be viewed in AR on iPhone or Android. The 3ds Max Live Link integration specifically requires 64-bit Windows and Autodesk 3ds Max 2024–2027.

Who it's for

E-commerce businesses and product manufacturers can use it to present configurable products through embedded interactive viewers. 3D studios, designers and marketing teams get a broader workspace for scene configuration and AI-assisted product media. It is less compelling for a small user who needs several projects or regular AI creation but wants to remain on the free tier.

Pros and cons

Pros: One workspace brings together AI-assisted imagery and 3D generation, configurator controls, publishing and AR viewing.
Pros: A JavaScript Model API, 3ds Max Live Link and AI-client MCP server provide integration paths beyond manual scene building.
Pros: The paid tiers scale storage, AI credits and parallel generations, with team collaboration in Creator AI.
Cons: Hobby's one-project, two-model and two-environment-asset limits sharply constrain real product work, and it includes no AI credits.
Cons: Creator AI charges extra for seats, complicating team budgeting; the published plan facts do not establish a Studio AI seat allowance.
Cons: Publishing makes scene and rendering files available to link or embed viewers, which may not suit workflows requiring restricted distribution.

Alternatives

For broader comparisons, browse Product Visualization Software and 3D Product Configurator Software.

Choose Mazing if a paid offering with a free trial and hosted 3D/AR models, AI models, lifestyle renderings and product videos better matches the workflow. 3D Product Config is another paid, trial-based option, with a Starter plan that includes configurators, model and texture file allowances, and conditional logic.

Consider iC3D Suite for packaging work on Mac or Windows with floating or concurrent-user licensing. Sayduck offers monthly or annual subscriptions, with plan limits and additional services or tiers potentially affecting cost.

Spheri has a free tier for one product with a watermark and no live configurator; choose it if that narrow free use case is sufficient. Cylindo uses quote-based pricing tailored to business needs, catalog size and sales channels, making it an option for buyers who prefer a tailored commercial arrangement. Roomvo offers a free room visualizer for independent retailers, subject to products from approved brand partners. Threekit is another paid product-configuration option.

Verdict

Choose 3DBAE if your team wants a browser-centered route from product assets and AI workflows to interactive, embeddable 3D scenes, with AR and integration options alongside. The strongest reason to look elsewhere is its constrained free tier—or, for teams, the need to budget paid AI credits and potentially separate seats.
