Overview

The library covers loops, samples, and one-shots, including vocal content, and its website advertises more than 160,000 loops and one-shots. You can browse Packs, Loops, and One-Shots, preview sounds, save favorites, and download them. Samples can be dragged into BandLab Studio, which gives BandLab users a direct route from discovery to arranging a track.

Downloads consume weekly claims: each sound costs one, and unused claims expire when the allowance refreshes. That is a meaningful constraint for anyone who likes to collect broadly, but generous enough at higher tiers for regular track-making. My Sounds adds a separate place to upload and organize your own samples, with custom-tag search. Its 2 GB allocation and one-minute per-file limit suit short audio assets, not longer recordings or a large archive.

Key features

Studio workflow: Dragging samples into Studio makes the library most compelling for people already composing in BandLab; it is less distinctive if you work elsewhere.
Discovery: Previewing and favoriting across Packs, Loops, and One-Shots helps narrow choices before spending a claim.
My Sounds: AAC, FLAC, M4A, MP3, and WAV support covers common audio formats. The 2 GB storage ceiling and one-minute upload limit are firm boundaries.
Usage rights: The non-exclusive, royalty-free license allows personal or commercial compositions when the sounds are part of a larger composition. It does not permit redistribution or resale of the sounds as standalone samples.

Pricing

The free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and provides 20 claims per week. It is a practical starting point for occasional downloads, but each sound uses a claim and there is no rollover for quieter weeks.

BandLab Pro costs 14.99 USD per month, with a 3-day free trial; it automatically renews at $14.99/month. Its 100 weekly claims make it a stronger fit for producers who regularly explore material, though the monthly renewal is worth noting before starting the trial.

BandLab Max costs 199.00 USD per year, billed at $199/year in the first year and then $299/year. Its 500 weekly claims suit intensive use, but the renewal increase makes the ongoing cost materially higher than the introductory year. The higher paid tiers buy more claim capacity; they do not remove the weekly reset.

Platforms

BandLab Sounds is available on Android, iOS, and the web through the BandLab mobile app and Sounds Hubs. That reach is useful for finding material across devices, while the Studio drag-and-drop workflow is the clearest fit for those making tracks within BandLab.

Who it's for

Choose BandLab Sounds if you want a broad loop and one-shot library, a direct path into BandLab Studio, and a modest cloud space for your own short samples. It is less suitable if you need uncapped downloads, larger personal audio storage, or the right to redistribute source sounds independently.

Pros and cons

Pro: Studio integration connects sample discovery to track creation without a separate handoff.
Pro: The free plan provides 20 weekly claims, making the library usable without a paid subscription.
Pro: My Sounds combines common audio-format support with tags and collection organization.
Con: Weekly claims do not roll over, so unused allowance is lost.
Con: My Sounds is capped at 2 GB and one minute per upload.
Con: Standalone sample resale or redistribution is prohibited, limiting use in sample-pack products.
Con: Max renews at $299/year after the first year.

Alternatives

Music Sample Libraries is the broader category directory for comparing options.

Wave Alchemy is worth considering on macOS or Windows if a free player with 4,000 samples and 200 presets suits you; its free Triaz Player disables sequencer editing, Sound Browser, and loading your own samples.
Splice Sounds may fit better if you want access across desktop and mobile platforms and a first-month Creator offer at 4.99 USD per month, with about 200 monthly downloads and access to 3M+ sounds.
ModeAudio is an alternative for a defined one-off purchase: its 50 Ambient Instrumental Loops Mini Pack 0035 costs 13.23 USD per once and includes 50 loops in 249.9 MB unzipped.
Noiiz offers monthly sound allowances by storage size: Light is 7.99 USD per month for 100 MB, while Regular is 12.99 USD per month for 300 MB, Unlimited Expansions, and Connect PRO.
WAVS has a $1 first-week offer with 10 download credits and unlimited plays; it then renews monthly at the Pro plan price shown on its page.
Loopcloud may suit someone who values points and cloud storage: Artist is 7.99 USD per month for 100 points and 5 GB, with a 14-day free trial.
99Sounds is a free alternative for royalty-free sound libraries and plugins under its site license.
LANDR Samples is another sample-library alternative.

Verdict

BandLab Sounds is a sensible pick for BandLab-centered producers who want a substantial royalty-free library, Studio integration, and a free weekly allowance. Choose it for that connected workflow; look elsewhere if you need samples for standalone resale, more personal storage, or a plan without expiring weekly claims.
