Overview

AARO CPM is a financial consolidation and performance management system for organizations reporting across multiple entities. It is best suited to finance teams that need group accounting alongside planning and operational analysis. Its broad remit is a strong fit for complex finance processes, but custom pricing makes it a poor match for buyers who need to compare costs before engaging a vendor.

Key features

AARO supports consolidated financial statements and group accounting as well as analytics, operational management analysis, simulations, financial recalculations, budgeting and forecasting. Bringing legal and external group reporting into the same consolidated process as internal follow-up can reduce the divide between statutory close and management reporting. Intercompany eliminations, multi-currency consolidation and an audit trail cover important needs for group finance.

The preconfigured AARO Base Package includes an EU BAS chart of accounts based on IFRS, an acquisition register, cash flow, financial statements and notes, acquisition elimination, Excel add-ons and a dashboard. That gives teams a ready-made foundation, with the option to customize it for their processes. The maker says AARO supports groups from three to a thousand companies; that stated range makes it relevant to both smaller groups and large organizations, though scale alone does not establish a fit.

AARO says users can analyze financial data and generate consolidated statements during close, with around-the-clock operation. AARO Integrator imports from multiple ERP systems, including VISMA, Navision, Hogia, Agresso, NetSuite, SAP and Microsoft Dynamics. Scheduled automatic imports can reduce repetitive work; semi-automatic input is also supported. Mapping, account summarization and sign reversal let customers define how source data is transformed, which is useful when a group combines different ERP systems.

AARO Connector is an add-on for using AARO figures in budgeting and forecasting solutions, BI tools, Excel and other Office tools. It supports a broader finance workflow, but the add-on status means buyers should establish its cost and fit separately. For AARO SaaS, the maker manages infrastructure, storage, backups, security updates, antivirus software and monitoring across three physical locations. AARO also describes on-premise deployment for organizations that prefer to operate it themselves.

AARO states that its information security management system is ISO 27001 certified and externally assessed. Security & Audit tracks user events, modifications, administrative changes and input data, giving finance teams a way to trace activity. Basic, Standard and Premium support SLAs are offered; Basic is included with AARO and AARO SaaS, while Premium includes 24/7 support. The AARO Academy offers training in accounts, reports, logic calculations and customized reports.

Pricing

AARO is paid software with custom pricing. The AARO Base Package has no published price; prospective customers can request a demo and discuss deployment or customization. This sales-led approach is reasonable for a system whose scope may depend on group structure and implementation needs, but it makes early budget comparisons difficult. Establish the costs of the package, any custom work, AARO Connector and the desired support SLA before committing.

Platforms

AARO is offered on web and Windows, with macOS also supported. Deployment options include an AARO-managed cloud service and on-premise hosting, so organizations can choose between vendor-managed operations and self-hosting.

Who it's for

AARO is aimed at finance teams in multi-entity organizations that need consolidated reporting and group accounting alongside planning, budgeting, forecasting or operational analysis. Its ERP importing and configurable transformation rules are especially relevant to groups with data spread across several systems. Buyers wanting a self-serve product with a visible entry price should look elsewhere; AARO requires a vendor conversation to establish costs.

Pros and cons

Pros: Consolidation, planning and operational analysis sit in one system, which can connect statutory reporting with internal follow-up.
Pros: The Base Package provides a defined IFRS-oriented starting point, including statements, cash flow, acquisition records, Excel add-ons and a dashboard.
Pros: ERP imports support multiple named systems and configurable mapping, with scheduled automation for recurring data loads.
Pros: SaaS operations include backups, updates and monitoring, while audit logging and ISO 27001 certification address security and traceability needs.
Cons: Custom pricing and a demo-led buying process make it harder to assess affordability without contacting the vendor.
Cons: AARO Connector is an add-on, so using AARO data in external planning or BI tools may require a separate cost and procurement decision.

Alternatives

Financial Consolidation Software is a useful category starting point for comparing products before choosing a vendor.

Choose OneStream if its support for Android and iOS, alongside web, Windows, API and self-hosted platforms, better matches your environment; its platform pricing is also discussed through a demo.

Konsolidat is worth considering if a free, open-source, self-operated option with no per-user fees is more important than a paid vendor offering.

Rephop may suit smaller groups seeking published monthly pricing: its Starter plan costs 299.00 USD per month for three entities and up to two users, with a free trial.

Control offers a 99.00 EUR per month early-company Starter discount for companies under €1M in annual revenue, making it an option for qualifying buyers who want a stated entry price.

Liquid Consolidation has a Pro plan at 99.00 EUR per month for one entity, three users and three scenarios; consider it if those limits fit your needs and you prefer published pricing.

Consolidation.app is another paid, web-based alternative.

Emfino may be a better fit for buyers looking for an API and web product with separately priced additions for users and legal entities.

IDL Konsis is a paid alternative for teams targeting web or Windows deployment, with pricing available by request and a demo offered.

Verdict

AARO CPM is a strong candidate for multi-entity finance teams that want consolidation, group reporting and planning processes supported by ERP imports and configurable data handling. Its breadth, audit trail and managed SaaS operations are compelling for organizations with demanding close and reporting workflows. Choose it when those capabilities justify a vendor-led purchase; look elsewhere if you need an upfront price or a self-serve buying path.
