ABCD
ABCD is a collection-management application for libraries, archives and museums, with cataloguing, circulation, acquisitions and a searchable public catalogue site. Cataloguing supports MARC, ISAD-G, Dublin Core and custom database models. The Central module lets institutions shape database structures, input screens, validation, pick-lists and display, export and print formats. It can copy records from Z39.50 catalogues and map MARC fields into custom fields; the feature list also includes remote Z39.50 searches and OAI metadata harvesting. Circulation supports lending and is customizable, while acquisitions manages purchase suggestions, quotations and purchasing decisions. ABCD is free, with a listed price of free, and is available for Linux, Windows and web use. Deployment is on-premise. The 3.3.0 Backup Manager requires the PHP zip extension on the server. The project describes an email list for general and ABCD questions, with possible replies in Spanish, English or French.
