Accessibility Inspector

Accessibility Inspector is Apple’s free macOS tool for examining accessibility information in app interfaces. It displays an element’s accessibility properties, available actions, and position in the view hierarchy. Audits identify common issues such as insufficient contrast, clipped text, and missing descriptions. Results can be saved as HTML reports containing summaries, screenshots, issue descriptions, and fix suggestions. Accessibility audits can also run in UI tests through performAccessibilityAudit(for:_:). The target menu includes apps on Mac and selected iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, or tvOS devices. Open it from Xcode through Xcode > Open Developer Tool > Accessibility Inspector. Apple’s listing describes Xcode as Mac-only, requiring macOS 26.2 or later and an Apple M1 chip or later, and labels it Free. Clearing reported issues does not prove complete accessibility; Apple recommends additional checks with assistive apps such as VoiceOver.

Orx

Orx is a free, open-source 2.5D game development engine for C and C++ programmers. Its templated, data-driven configuration can define objects and scenes, and changes can be made without recompiling. The engine includes accelerated rendering, sprite batching, multiple cameras and viewports, custom shaders, off-screen rendering, and multiple render targets. Audio capabilities include 3D sound and music, recording, filters, and controls for volume, pitch, and stereo balance. Orx also provides collision handling, rigid-body physics with joints, and input for keyboard, joystick, mouse, and touch. Data-driven animation graphs and event management cover clocks, effects, input, physics, shaders, sound, spawners, and timelines. Localization can select language-specific images, text, and sounds while a game runs. A plugin architecture supports customization and porting. Target platforms include Windows, Linux, macOS, Web/HTML5, Android, and iOS. The zlib license permits free use and modification in freeware and commercial projects. Learning resources include tutorials, examples, setup and beginner guides, and configuration information.
