Overview

A central deck library, branded rooms, viewer analytics, approval workflows, and sharing controls make HummingDeck a deal workspace rather than just a way to send files. Sellers can put materials and coordinated next steps in one room, with phased plans or checklists assigning buyer and seller owners, private tasks, due dates, and dependencies. That is useful when a deal involves multiple follow-ups; teams seeking only a simple file repository may not need the added planning layer.

Recipients can accept a document, request changes, or decline it. Those responses are workflow signals, not legally binding e-signatures, so agreements that require formal execution need a separate signing process.

Key features

Document analytics include views, time spent per page, completion, and supported clicks on links or elements. These signals can help sellers understand which materials attract attention, but their usefulness for reviewing engagement over time depends on plan retention: Free is real-time only, Starter keeps 30 days, Pro 90 days, and Business offers unlimited history.

Supported files include PDF, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and HTML; interactive HTML documents can be up to 100 MB. Rooms can embed video, scheduling, forms, design, whiteboard, document, presentation, and audio providers, including Loom, Calendly, Typeform, Figma, Google Docs, and Spotify. Integrations include Zapier, Close CRM, Slack, Google Workspace, and a Chrome extension for Gmail. HubSpot, Canva, Attio, Nutshell, and Capsule CRM are coming soon.

Sharing controls include link expiration and download controls. Pro and Business add email verification for restricted access, a meaningful step up for teams that need tighter recipient control. HummingDeck says it uses TLS 1.2 or higher in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest, and Google Cloud infrastructure. It also says it processes data under a GDPR-ready Data Processing Agreement, offers Standard Contractual Clauses, and does not sell customer data.

Pricing

HummingDeck has a free plan and paid plans from $10/month. Paid plans include a 7-day trial with no credit card required; if you do not upgrade, the account reverts to Free. The free tier is billed Free forever, while the paid prices below are monthly.

Plan	Price	What it includes
Free	Free	5 documents, 5 links, 1 deal room, 3 documents per room, and 100 MB storage
Starter	10.00 USD per month	1 user, 25 documents, 50 links per document, 3 deal rooms, and 1,000 MB storage
Pro	25.00 USD per month per user	15 deal rooms, 15 documents per room, 100 documents, 90 days of analytics retention, and Restricted Access
Business	40.00 USD per month per user	Unlimited documents, links, rooms, and analytics history, plus custom domain and branding and priority support

Free is a practical way to try a small number of rooms, but five documents and five links make it a tight fit for ongoing sales work, and real-time-only analytics offers no retained history. Starter suits an individual who can work within one seat, three rooms, and 25 documents; it adds storage and 30-day analytics retention, but does not include the Restricted Access listed for Pro. Pro is the stronger fit for a user who needs restricted access and longer analytics history, though its per-user price and room and document limits matter as a team grows. Business is aimed at teams needing unlimited room and content capacity, custom branding, and priority support; its per-user pricing can add up across a larger staff.

Platforms

HummingDeck is available on the web, as an extension, and through an API. Its Gmail Chrome extension and integrations with Google Workspace, Slack, and Close CRM give it routes into existing workflows, while API access can suit teams connecting it to their own systems.

Who it's for

HummingDeck is best for sellers and client-facing professionals who need to share branded materials, see how recipients engage, and coordinate responsibilities around a deal. Consultants, agencies, and founders can also use the room structure to keep documents and buyer-facing next steps together. It is less compelling for teams that need formal e-signatures or have no use for engagement analytics and deal planning.

Pros and cons

Pros: Deal rooms combine shared documents with assigned plans, due dates, and dependencies, giving both sides a place to track next steps.
Pros: Analytics cover page-level time and completion as well as supported clicks, with longer retention on higher plans.
Pros: File support, embedded content, link controls, and integrations make rooms adaptable to different sales materials and workflows.
Cons: Recipient acceptance, change requests, and declines are not legally binding signatures.
Cons: Free has small document, link, room, and storage caps, and retains analytics only in real time.
Cons: Pro and Business prices are per user, so access to restricted controls or unlimited capacity can become more expensive as seats increase.

Verdict

Choose HummingDeck if your team needs branded document rooms that connect recipient engagement with a shared plan for moving deals forward. Its combination of room-level analytics and assigned next steps is the main reason to choose it; the main reasons to look elsewhere are the per-user cost of its higher tiers and the absence of legally binding e-signatures.
