Overview

Accountic automates accounting and tax workflows for Indian firms, with a particular fit for practitioners and teams whose work runs through TallyPrime or CompuOffice. It is worth considering when its specialist modules match recurring jobs; it is a narrower choice for firms seeking a standalone accounting system or integrations beyond those tools.

Key features

The 18 live modules span tax audit, GST audits, TDS reconciliation, notice replies, invoice OCR and debtor follow-up. That range may let a small practice or accounting team handle several routine processes in one place, but it is not a substitute for checking whether the firm's actual workload falls within the modules.

Rules handle work where they can, with AI used when rules cannot decide. Users review the results before using them, keeping a human check in the process rather than making the output automatically final.

Modules can post vouchers, ledger masters and XML imports to TallyPrime using the firm's existing company and chart of accounts. The Windows Tally Agent provides live posting, making the integration useful for firms already working in TallyPrime. CompuTax Drive uses a local agent to operate CompuOffice directly without an API. These are meaningful workflow connections for firms on those systems, but the stated integrations give little reason for teams using other accounting software to switch.

Accountic says processing, model invocations and storage stay in Indian data centres, with no cross-border transfer of client data. It also says customer corpora and outputs are not used to train models serving other firms or customers. Security measures include TLS 1.2+ in transit, AES-256 at rest, managed key rotation, and exclusion of customer data from logs and telemetry. Its infrastructure is provided by Thalia, which is SOC 2 Type II-compliant; ISO 27001 certification is on Accountic's roadmap, not a current credential.

Pricing

The free Start free plan is free, requires no card and includes every module, with credits that never expire. It is a sensible way to check module fit before committing money, but the plan description does not give a job quota, so firms should not assume unlimited processing.

Pay as you go costs 1.00 INR per once, charged before each job, with 1 credit = ₹1. It includes all 18 live modules, has no monthly commitment, lets credits remain unused indefinitely and offers a full refund on system failure. This avoids subscription bills, but job costs depend on module and volume; firms with frequent or high-volume work should estimate credit use rather than infer a predictable monthly cost from the entry price.

Accountic offers a free trial as well as its free plan. The site describes a founder reaching out within one business day after a work email is submitted, which may suit firms that want a direct conversation before choosing modules.

Platforms

Accountic runs on the web and Windows. The Windows Tally Agent is specifically for connecting Accountic to TallyPrime for live posting, so it matters most to firms using that workflow rather than to users looking for a separate Windows accounting application.

Who it's for

Accountic targets solo practitioners, in-house accounting teams and firms with 5–30 professionals. It is best suited to Indian firms with repeat tax, audit, reconciliation or reporting work that maps to its modules and already uses TallyPrime or CompuOffice. Firms outside those systems, or with needs beyond the module set, should compare broader alternatives before adopting it.

Pros and cons

Pros

All 18 live modules are accessible on the no-card free plan, making it possible to assess fit without an initial payment.
TallyPrime posting uses the firm's existing company and chart of accounts, while CompuTax Drive can operate CompuOffice through a local agent without an API.
Pay-as-you-go avoids monthly commitments, and unused credits do not expire.
Indian data residency, stated limits on model training use, and specified encryption and key-rotation controls will matter to firms handling client records.

Cons

Credit consumption varies by module and volume, so the ₹1 credit unit does not by itself reveal the cost of a firm's workload.
The workflow requires users to review outputs before use, leaving a human review step in place.
The strongest integrations are specific to TallyPrime and CompuOffice, limiting its appeal to firms built around other accounting systems.
ISO 27001 is on the roadmap, while the stated SOC 2 Type II compliance belongs to its infrastructure provider, Thalia.

Alternatives

Docyt is worth comparing for teams seeking accounting automation on Android or iOS as well as the web; its free Accountant Copilot plan includes AI categorization, bank and card reconciliation, and month-end close automation.

SmartLedger AI may suit teams that prioritize a free core accounting plan with unlimited users and companies, while its Free plan excludes AI automation. Its listed Plus plan costs 399.00 INR per month.

Zoho Books is an option for solopreneurs and micro businesses whose annual revenue stays below $50K; its free plan is available indefinitely under that condition and includes one user and one account.

Zoho Inventory is the more relevant comparison for inventory workflows: its free plan allows 50 orders per month, one user and one location.

FiNote, SBKA, Accountrix AI and Xero Expenses are other alternatives to compare.

Verdict

Accountic is a strong fit for Indian practitioners and 5–30-person firms with repeat accounting or tax jobs that match its modules and flow through TallyPrime or CompuOffice. Its main case is the combination of specialist automation, direct workflow connections and a free entry point without a recurring bill. Look elsewhere if you need predictable subscription pricing, a broader standalone accounting platform or integrations with different systems.
