Adima Image Upscaler Pro

Adima Image Upscaler Pro enlarges, sharpens and enhances images on Windows and Android, with batch processing and a desktop app. It supports upscaling by as much as 16×, with output described as reaching 16K. The maker says its Real-ESRGAN method reconstructs image detail, while Face Boost is intended to restore facial details, eyes and skin texture in blurry portraits. Images can be exported as JPG, PNG, BMP, TIFF, WEBP or HDR. The maker says processing happens locally and images are not uploaded, transmitted or stored on its servers; its privacy policy also says it may collect account, license, payment, technical, analytics and advertising information. The free plan includes 20 credits, with one credit used per processed image. Video upscaling is not available. Paid plans include monthly-billed options and options described as one-time purchases. Basic Pack is listed at $7.99 per month; other listed monthly prices range from $14.99 to $34.99 per month. The maker was founded in 2024.

NextGenUp

NextGenUp is a free tool for enlarging images and video, available as desktop software for macOS, Windows 10/11 and Linux, or as a self-hosted web app. Processing runs on the user's hardware: its models, FFmpeg and server run locally, and files are not sent to cloud processing. Images can be enlarged to 8K using Quick, Quality, Enhance or Ultra modes; video upscaling reaches 4K through basic and professional AI modes. Enhance reduces noise and blur without enlarging the image, while GFPGAN v1.4 detects faces and restores detail. Real-ESRGAN handles super-resolution. Processing uses the CPU by default and accelerates with a GPU when available. The browser app can use WebGPU on Chrome or Edge 113 and later. The software is MIT licensed and needs no subscription, watermark or account. There is no trial limit. Web files are limited to 2 GB, and older processed files are automatically removed after 24 hours. PNG is the listed output format.
