In their own words
Adminer
Adminer is web-based database management software distributed as a single PHP file. It supports MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, CockroachDB, SQLite, MS SQL, and Oracle; plugin drivers add Elasticsearch, SimpleDB, MongoDB, Redis, Firebird, ClickHouse, IGDB, and IMAP. Users can create and alter database structures, including tables, columns, indexes, foreign keys, views, procedures, functions, and triggers. The interface can search, sort, and limit table results, edit records, run SQL, review query history, and export to SQL or CSV. Listed database capabilities include generated columns and check constraints, MySQL events and partitions, and PostgreSQL schemas, sequences, and user types. Adminer requires a database password and rate-limits connection attempts. Its site recommends restricting public access, for example with IP whitelisting or web-server password protection, and keeping the software updated. Plugins can add options such as OTP or passkey login, SSL connections, SQL highlighting, and extra export formats. It supports PHP 5.3+, 7, and 8 with sessions enabled. Adminer is free for commercial and non-commercial use under either the Apache License or GPL 2.
OpenEverest
OpenEverest is a free, open-source platform for provisioning and managing databases, storage, and LLMs on Kubernetes. Teams can create database instances through the UI, API, or CLI, choosing topologies, versions, and presets. The listed workloads include MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, Microsoft SQL Server, TiDB, and Valkey; its FAQ also names Apache Cassandra and KServe. Users can scale by adding nodes, shards, or replicas and adjusting CPU, memory, and storage. The platform supports scheduled backups to S3-compatible storage, point-in-time recovery, and cloning an instance from a backup. It can send metrics to an existing observability stack without requiring a particular monitoring tool. Built-in protections include TLS, generated credentials, and role-based access control. A guided interface covers storage classes, pod scheduling, external access, and database engine parameters. OpenEverest can run on Kubernetes in public or private clouds, on bare metal, or on-premises. Its components are available under Apache 2.0. Version 1 is current; version 2 is a developer preview that is not feature-complete or intended for production.
