Adobe Lightroom vs Panorama Stitcher

Lightroom is Adobe’s cloud-based service for creating, editing, organizing, storing, and sharing photos across devices. Its photo libraries are searchable, and the editing toolkit includes RAW support, batch editing, masking, AI retouching, AI Lens Blur, Adaptive Presets, portrait Quick Actions, and sensor Dust Removal. Generative Remove uses Adobe Firefly to remove distractions, while Assisted Culling helps sort photos by image quality and group similar shots. Generative upscale with Topaz Gigapixel can enlarge images by up to 4x. Users can collaborate in shared albums, post to social network apps, or share with the Lightroom community. Lightroom is available on Android, iOS, macOS, web, and Windows, with a free mobile app and premium features available as an upgrade. Adobe offers a free plan and a 7-day trial; billing begins when the trial ends, with a further 14-day refund period described. Named plans include Lightroom, Photography, and Creative Cloud Pro, as well as student, teacher, and team options.

Panorama Stitcher combines multiple photographs into a higher-resolution composite, automatically aligning source images by matching overlapping areas. It supports spherical alignment for panoramas made by rotating a camera and planar alignment for scans, microscope images, and aerial maps. The app levels exposure and corrects lens shading automatically. Spherical panoramas can use rectilinear or equirectilinear projection, while planar images have a rotation control. Before export, users can straighten or rotate the result, adjust exposure, and set cropping. It imports image formats supported by macOS, including Apple RAW formats, and exports JPEG, 16-bit TIFF, or PNG. Output can merge EXIF tags from the source images, and equirectangular panoramas can use Photosphere tags. Panorama Stitcher Mini is a free Mac edition for smaller projects and stitches up to five images; its listed plan costs nothing. The app accesses only selected files, does not collect user data or send images to the maker or third parties, and has no Internet access. Version 1.11 requires macOS 10.14 or later and added native Apple M1 support, according to release notes.
