Affinity

Affinity is a desktop creative app combining vector design, pixel editing and page layout in one application. Individuals can use its Pixel, Vector and Layout tools without payment or tool restrictions, and the free plan includes export tools and Canva integration. A free Canva account is required to download and use Affinity; Canva premium is needed for Canva AI tools inside the app. It runs on Windows and macOS and is optimized for Apple silicon and Intel on macOS. Imported PSD, AI, IDML and DWG files can retain their layers and structure. Finished assets can be exported to Canva for live collaboration and campaigns, while designs can be imported into Cavalry for animation. After download and license activation, Affinity can be used offline. Help, lessons, stock libraries, Canva integrations and AI tools require an internet connection. The app can be installed on as many devices as desired, and the site says it will receive free updates. An iPad version is being built, with no release date announced.

Flipsnack

Flipsnack turns PDFs or original designs into digital flipbooks with a page-turning experience. Publishers can add links, videos, forms, buttons, embeds, product tags, and pop-ups, while analytics track views, clicks, engagement, form interactions, time spent, and heatmaps. Its stated uses include product catalogs, marketing materials, internal communications, sales enablement, employee benefits, real estate, and training. Integrations include HubSpot and Salesforce, with materials also covering Zapier, Shopify, Google Tag Manager, APIs, and webhooks. Flipsnack runs in a web browser and has no desktop application for computers. iOS and Android reader apps remain available, but their development and support are paused; the apps do not support private flipbooks or SSO login. The free plan does not expire and allows five flipbooks of up to 15 pages each, a 100 MB PDF upload, and 250 one-time AI credits. Free downloads carry the Flipsnack watermark. Paid options include Student, Classroom, Starter, Pro, Business, and Enterprise; the listed starting price is $16/user/mo (annual).
