In their own words
Aftershoot
Aftershoot is photo post-processing software for photographers, with AI tools for culling, editing, and retouching on macOS and Windows. Culling scores and groups images using factors including sharpness, exposure, blinks, duplicates, facial expressions, and composition. Editing profiles learn from a photographer’s edited images, while manual adjustments are also available. Retouching includes adjustable subject sliders and presets that can be synced across multiple images. The software supports RAW, JPEG, and TIFF files, as well as bulk renaming and resizing. Its culling workflow connects with Lightroom Classic and Capture One, preserving ratings, color labels, and flags on export. Aftershoot says images can be processed locally and offline without cloud uploads or a constant internet connection. There is no free plan, but new users can try the service for 30 days without charge and without a credit card. Select costs $10.00 per month billed annually ($120/year), or $15/month with monthly billing. Other plans cover editing, retouching, or combinations, including Complete at $45.00 per month billed annually ($540/year), or $55/month with monthly billing.
imagic
imagic is a desktop application for AI photo culling and RAW editing. It scores photos for sharpness, exposure, noise, composition, and detail, and also shows subject focus; other listed tools include duplicate, blur, and closed-eye detection. Users can batch-edit and export photos, and the built-in RAW engine supports formats including CR2, CR3, NEF, ARW, RAF, ORF, RW2, DNG, PEF, TIF, TIFF, JPEG, PNG, and WebP. Desktop culling, editing, and RAW processing happen locally, without uploading photos. The web editor instead sends an uploaded image to imagic's server for one edit, keeps it temporarily during the session, then deletes it. Edits are non-destructive, leaving original source files unchanged unless explicitly exported. The free trial includes full Max access and allows up to 500 photo exports. One-time licenses cost €19 for Lite, €49 for Plus, and €99 for Max. A license runs on one machine at a time; activating it on a new device deactivates the previous one. The app can send anonymous device, usage, and error data, which can be disabled in Settings.
