Overview

AgilePoint NX is a low-code platform for composing applications and coordinating enterprise workflows. It is best suited to organizations that need to connect complex systems and change processes while they are running. Its breadth is compelling, but edition-specific seat minimums and deployment terms make plan selection an important part of the decision.

Visual, model-driven composition lets teams build and execute solutions without compilation or a virtual machine, while pro-code support leaves room for more technical work. The catalog includes more than 1,200 reusable capability assets drawn from over 120 systems and in-house assets, with integrations spanning Salesforce, SAP, SharePoint, ServiceNow, Jira, UiPath, OpenAI, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and AWS services. AgilePoint was founded in 2003 and is headquartered in Mountain View, California.

Key features

Workflows that can change in flight

Teams can roll back, skip, suspend, resume, split or merge paths, rework part of a process, and migrate work while an orchestration is running, without redeployment or recompilation. That is a meaningful advantage for processes whose route must respond to changing conditions; it is more capability than a team with only fixed, straightforward workflows may need.

AI generation, agents, and governance

NX v10 can generate application experiences from images, PDFs, mockups, documents, and external data sources. Its MCP Server lets compatible AI agents trigger workflows without custom integration code. The AI Control Tower provides governance, observability, and control over AI-driven process behavior, and supports public and private model strategies. These capabilities make NX relevant to organizations putting AI into operational processes, though the platform says it is pursuing ISO 42001 certification rather than claiming certification.

Security and integration

Field-level encryption with customer-managed keys and API key management for external tools address concrete security needs in connected applications. The large reusable asset catalog and named enterprise integrations can reduce the work of connecting systems, but the breadth is most valuable when an organization has multiple systems and processes to coordinate.

Pricing

AgilePoint uses a freemium model, with paid pricing from 39.00 USD per month per named user and a 30-day trial. The Community Edition has no listed price and is capped at 25 named users and two applications, with community-based support. It is the sensible starting point for a small evaluation or limited deployment, but those caps constrain broader use.

Standard Edition costs 39.00 USD per month per named user, with a 50-seat minimum. It includes core connectors, SSO, public or private cloud or on-premises deployment, and standard 9–5 support. The entry price therefore requires a substantial seat commitment, and standard support may not suit teams that need round-the-clock help.

Professional Edition costs 195.00 USD per month per DCA seat, or 59.00 USD per month per named seat, with a 35-seat minimum. DCA seats are shared across an average of 10–25 users. Professional adds advanced connectors, Mobile App Builder, and Analytic Center, with public or private cloud or on-premises deployment and optional 24/7 support. The DCA option can accommodate more users per seat, while named seats offer a simpler identity-based arrangement; either way, the minimum is a meaningful commitment.

Enterprise Edition costs 19950.00 USD per month per production CPU core, with a two-core minimum. It allows unlimited managed users and includes advanced connectors and clustering, two non-production environments, hybrid private cloud and on-premises deployment, and optional 24/7 support. It is aimed at enterprise-wide rollouts, not smaller teams seeking a low-cost upgrade. Anonymous External Users have usage-based licensing with no seat allocation required, but no price is listed. The separate Named User Seat is 39.00 USD per month with a 50-seat minimum and one identity per perpetual seat.

Platforms

AgilePoint NX supports Android, iOS, web, Windows, API access, and self-hosted deployment. NX v10 is offered on-premises, in private cloud, and as SaaS; pricing also describes public cloud and hybrid deployment options. The range suits organizations balancing hosted access with control over where systems run.

Who it's for

NX is a strong fit for enterprises coordinating workflows across many systems, especially where processes need in-flight changes, mobile application support, or governed AI integration. Community Edition can serve up to 25 named users and two applications, while Standard and Professional require minimums of 50 and 35 seats respectively. Enterprise is positioned for unlimited managed users, but its two-core minimum and monthly price put it beyond the needs of most small teams.

Teams with a small number of stable workflows, little need for integrations, or no appetite for seat minimums should look for a narrower tool. NX's combination of workflow flexibility, connectors, and deployment choice is most persuasive when those capabilities will be used together.

Pros and cons

Pro: Runtime rollback, migration, and partial rework let teams redirect active processes without redeployment or recompilation.
Pro: More than 1,200 reusable assets and integrations across major enterprise systems give teams a broad foundation for orchestration.
Pro: AI generation, MCP-triggered workflows, and AI governance bring application building and oversight into the same platform.
Con: Paid plans have minimums of 35 or 50 seats, and Enterprise starts at two production cores, making entry costly for smaller deployments.
Con: Community Edition is limited to 25 named users and two applications, with community-based support.
Con: Optional 24/7 support is reserved for Professional and Enterprise; Standard is limited to 9–5 support.

Alternatives

Consider Bonita if a free starting point with a 150-process-instances-per-month cap and no time limit is a better fit. Choose Camunda if you want a free, self-managed development option for local development and testing. MetaTask is another freemium option, with a Personal plan capped at five active workflows and two team members, or a Basic Team plan at 49.00 USD per month.

Flowable may suit teams that specifically value Apache 2.0-licensed workflow engines written in Java. HEFLO offers a free Academic plan for cloud-stored diagrams, image downloads, and import/export. ProcessMind has a free plan for one member with unlimited models and 20 AI credits per month.

WEBCON BPS is a paid alternative with a free trial. Nintex Automation CE is another paid option with a free trial.

Verdict

Choose AgilePoint NX when your organization needs adaptable enterprise workflows, broad system connections, and AI governance in a platform that can run across cloud and self-hosted environments. Its strongest reason to buy is the ability to change active processes while combining integrations and AI controls. Look elsewhere if you need a modest seat commitment or simple workflows: the minimums and Enterprise core pricing can make NX more platform than a smaller team needs.
