AI Alt Text Builder
AI Alt Text Builder is a WordPress plugin that generates descriptive alternative text for images in the Media Library. It adds a one-click generation control to individual media items and their attachment edit screens. Pro adds bulk generation and automatic generation when an image is uploaded. Generated text receives a length score from 0 to 100, with a sortable column in the Media Library for review. Model choices include GPT-4.1 Mini, GPT-4.1, and GPT-4o; language options include English, German, French, Spanish, Turkish, or a custom language. Pro includes custom prompts, all listed models, and all listed languages. Output is saved in WordPress’ standard attachment alt text field, which themes and other plugins can read. During trial or Pro generation, image URLs are sent to RankPilotAI; BYOK mode can send them directly to OpenAI. In Pro mode, RankPilotAI also receives the file name, current alt text, selected model and language, site URL, domain, plugin slug, and Site Token. Requirements are WordPress 6.0 or later, PHP 8.0 or later, and a RankPilotAI Site Token. The free plan includes 25 tokens; annual plans start at $2.99 a month.
