Overview

The process is direct: choose a photo, record a short video or add audio, generate the animation, then share it. Avatarify centers on talking selfies, singing portraits, memes and personalized videos. That makes it a niche tool for entertaining personal content, not a replacement for a general-purpose video editor.

The App Store listing says AI processing happens on the device and that photos and videos are not uploaded to external servers or shared with third-party AI services. The privacy policy says imported images are not uploaded to or stored on Avatarify’s servers; face information is used on-device during generation, retained for only a few minutes and not shared with third parties. No registration is required. These are useful assurances for people animating personal photos, though the policy also names Mixpanel for app behavior, AppsFlyer for marketing attribution and Firebase Crashlytics for stability information. It says Avatarify cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted through the app.

Users retain intellectual property rights in content they provide and that is processed or generated, subject to Avatarify’s ownership of the app and technology. The app is not intended for children under 13. Users needing help can contact hello@avatarify.ai.

Key features

Photo animation: Avatarify can make portraits talk, sing, lip-sync and move facially. The short creation flow suits quick, shareable results; it is a narrow creative purpose rather than broad editing functionality.
Video face swap: The feature is available, but commercial use is not permitted. That makes the app appropriate for personal entertainment, not business or promotional content.
Privacy approach: Local face processing and no required registration reduce the need to send source images to Avatarify’s servers. Analytics and crash-reporting services are still named in the privacy policy, so users should weigh those disclosures alongside the on-device assurances.

Pricing

Avatarify is freemium, with a free option and several in-app subscription purchases. The free plan is free and requires no registration. It is the sensible starting point for occasional personal use, but no creation quota or other free-plan cap is stated, so frequent users should not assume the free option will cover a particular volume.

MONTHLY AVATARIFY PREMIUM: 3.99 USD per month, billed monthly. The shorter commitment suits users who want Premium without paying for a year upfront.
YEARLY AVATARIFY PREMIUM: 34.99 USD per year, billed yearly. It is the annual Premium option; the price is lower than twelve monthly payments at 3.99 USD, but commits the user for a year.
YEARLY 3 DAYS TRIAL PRO: 34.99 USD per year, billed yearly, with a 3-day trial in the plan name. It may suit someone who wants to try before an annual subscription, but the trial is brief and the listed annual price matters when it ends.
6 MONTHLY 3 DAYS TRIAL 34.99$: 34.99 USD per year, described as a billed 6-month plan, with a 3-day trial in the plan name. The mismatch between the annual price and six-month billing description makes this option harder to assess; check the purchase terms before choosing it.
YEARLY 3 DAYS TRIAL 39.99$ PRO: 39.99 USD per year, billed yearly, with a 3-day trial in the plan name. It costs more than the other listed annual options, with no distinct included benefit stated.

Premium is named in the monthly and annual plans, but no feature differences between paid tiers are stated. Compare the purchase screen carefully rather than assuming these similarly named options have different benefits.

Platforms

Avatarify is listed for Android and iOS. The iPhone version requires iOS 15.0 or later. Android users can find Avatarify: AI Face Animator on Google Play, where the described workflow is choosing a photo and music track to create a singing portrait.

Who it's for

Choose Avatarify if you want to turn personal photos into short, playful singing or talking portraits and value the stated local image processing. The free entry point makes it worth considering for occasional experiments. Look elsewhere if you need commercial rights, a general video editor, clearly differentiated subscription tiers or a published free-use quota before committing.

Pros and cons

Pros

Focused creation flow: A photo and short video or audio lead to an animated portrait, making the app well suited to quick social clips.
On-device processing assurances: Avatarify says photos and videos are not uploaded to external servers or third-party AI services, and its policy says face data is kept only briefly.
No registration: Users can start without creating an account.
Free option: The free plan gives people a way to try the app before paying for Premium.

Cons

No commercial use: The app is a poor fit for business content or monetized creative work.
Unclear subscription distinctions: Multiple trial and annual plan names offer no stated differences in included features, and one plan’s six-month billing description conflicts with its annual price.
Short trial window: The trial plans name only three days, leaving little time to assess a paid option.
Analytics disclosures remain relevant: The privacy policy names behavior, attribution and crash-reporting services despite the on-device photo-processing assurances.

Alternatives

For a broader comparison, browse AI Face Swap Tools. Choose iSamurai if you want a free plan with 10 credits per month, another 10 credits for each daily login, and photo face swap, restoration, image generation and editing across Android, iOS, web and API.

Remaker AI is worth considering if you prefer credits that do not expire and a wider platform range, including desktop systems; its listed credit purchases start at 5.99 USD per once for 200 credits. For a desktop and web-focused option with a stated monthly allowance for live swapping, consider LiveFaceSwap AI: its Basic plan is 12.00 USD per month, billed as 36 USD / 3 months, and includes 650 credits per month.

YouInMeme may suit users who want a daily allowance of two free creations and an optional one-time 0.99 USD purchase for three additional creations that day. If you want broader image-related features across mobile and web, AI Ease has several free basic features and a yearly Membership with custom pricing.

Jhroke Camera is a web alternative with a free Basic Mode that includes SD photo and video tools but watermarks content and excludes live video calls, 4K rendering and commercial use. Picsi.Ai may fit users seeking daily credits for single-face swaps, though its free creations are watermarked and GIF/video features are locked; its Basic plan costs 9.99 USD per month. For a one-time purchase instead of a subscription, SwapFace offers a Basic plan for 9.99 USD per once, with benefits valid for 30 days and video face swap up to 60 seconds.

Verdict

Avatarify is a good fit for people who want a compact, personal photo-animation tool and place value on its stated on-device processing. The free option and straightforward photo-to-portrait flow make it easy to consider for playful social content. Skip it for commercial work, and scrutinize the in-app purchase terms before starting a three-day trial or committing to an annual plan.
