In their own words
AirScrobble
AirScrobble identifies music and can save discoveries to Last.fm. On iPhone and iPad, it can also match audio coming from the device speakers, including sound in videos, voice memos, and social feeds; this feature does not work with earbuds or headphones such as AirPods. A Last.fm account is not needed to discover songs or view history, but a free account is required to scrobble and use some Last.fm API shortcut actions. Users can view discoveries in Apple Music and add them to its library through a playlist, with an option to save new discoveries automatically. AirScrobble+ adds Auto Match, which continuously listens and can scrobble in the background, and full History access. History entries sync between devices with iCloud. Control Center widgets can start Single Match or Auto Match, while Live Activities show matching status. Siri and Shortcuts support includes actions for Last.fm music and profile data, trending tracks, and scrobbling. The free plan includes music discovery, Last.fm integration, Auto Scrobble, Apple Music integration, Siri, and Shortcuts. AirScrobble+ costs $0.99 a month, $7.49 a year, or 24.99 USD one time.
Earworm
Earworm is an iOS song identifier that recognizes a tune from humming, singing, or whistling, even when the original track is not playing and its lyrics are unknown. Tap the orb and provide a clear melody; the maker says five to ten seconds is usually enough. The app returns a ranked shortlist with previews that you can confirm, then opens matched songs in Apple Music or Spotify. An Apple Watch app can identify songs from the wrist. Earworm is currently a free TestFlight beta and is not yet on the App Store; an account is required. Short recordings, search history, and match feedback are stored with the account on Earworm’s servers until deletion. The maker says recording use for improving matches is optional and can be withdrawn in Settings, and that it does not sell personal data or use it for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking. Account deletion removes the account, recordings, and history.
