In their own words
Aleph Cloud (formerly Aleph.im)
Aleph Cloud, formerly Aleph.im, is a decentralized cloud platform for storage, computing, and blockchain indexing. Its compute offerings include VPS instances, confidential VMs, GPU instances, and serverless functions. Block storage is described as high-availability SSD storage ranging from 1 MB to 20 TB. Website hosting supports frameworks such as Next.js, React, and Vue.js, with IPFS for storage and distribution. Developers can use SDKs, APIs, CLI tools, Docker, and Kubernetes; enterprise integrations also list Terraform, GitHub Actions, and webhooks. The platform lists support for blockchains including Ethereum, Solana, Cosmos, Polygon, and Tezos. Aleph Cloud says Trusted Execution Environments keep data encrypted and private during computation. Its enterprise materials describe zero-trust design, audit logs, telemetry, and deployments for GDPR and data-residency requirements. Billing uses credits deducted as resources are consumed, and workloads may be reclaimed when the balance runs out. Static website hosting is free with basic bandwidth and IPFS distribution; a VPS starter packer is listed at $1.94 a month.
Storj
Storj provides distributed cloud Object Storage and Object Mount for accessing cloud files as if they were local. Object Storage is described as a drop-in AWS S3 replacement, while Object Mount works with S3-compatible storage and provides POSIX access without modifying files or requiring a gateway. Existing buckets can be mounted without migration. Storj encrypts data and metadata end-to-end, at rest, and in transit by default. Objects are split across tens of thousands of storage nodes, with tiers designed for 11 nines of durability. S3-compatible object lock and versioning support immutability and protection from accidental deletion. Listed integrations include Amove, Veeam, TrueNAS, Splunk, LucidLink, FileZilla, and Cyberduck. Customers use it for backup and recovery, media workflows, AI, and scientific work. Standard pricing is $7 a month per TB for storage, with 7.00 USD per TB egress and a 5.00 USD minimum monthly fee. A 30-day free trial is available; there is no free plan.
