Overview

AlfaPTE supports PTE Academic, PTE Academic UKVI, PTE Core and PTE Home. Candidates can combine practice questions with instant AI scoring, mock tests, score tracking and a study plan. Speaking practice and writing feedback cover two skills where candidates may want feedback beyond answer checking.

Training businesses can use separate institute software with a branded practice portal, student account management, performance analytics and tools for adding study materials. AlfaPTE says it is independent of Pearson Education Ltd and Pearson VUE, and neither endorses it.

Key features

Practice, scoring and progress

AI scoring gives immediate feedback on practice questions and mock tests, while performance analytics track practice results. That combination can help candidates monitor progress between full exam simulations. The free allowance is restrictive for anyone who wants repeated feedback: Speaking, Reading and Listening questions have five daily checks each, except SST, while Writing and SST receive only a one-time check.

Mock tests and mobile study

Full, sectional, timed and custom mock tests let candidates vary both the scope and structure of a session. Free users get one full and one sectional mock test, which is enough to sample those formats but not a continuing supply of free exam-length practice.

The iOS and Android apps support 24 languages and include dark mode and MP3 listening practice. One login and subscription covers both the website and mobile app, so candidates can move between them without a separate mobile subscription.

Institute tools

The branded portal, student administration and analytics are aimed at PTE training businesses rather than individual tutors seeking only practice questions. Institutes can manage PTE and IELTS student platforms from one partner panel and use purchased credits for either. The minimum purchase is five student accounts, and each account can be used by only one person at a time; that is a poor fit for a smaller operation or shared-seat model.

Pricing

AlfaPTE uses a freemium model and offers a free trial. The Free Plan is free and includes 20,000 practice questions, limited AI scoring, one full mock test, one sectional mock test and limited templates. Its question bank is substantial, but scoring and mock-test caps make it better for sampling the workflow than for sustained, feedback-heavy preparation.

Free access includes five daily AI score checks for Speaking, Reading and Listening questions except SST, plus one-time checks for Writing and SST. It also includes one free full and one sectional mock test. Candidates who need repeated writing or SST scoring, or more mock exams, should expect to need a paid plan. Institute purchases require at least five student accounts, and the pricing FAQ says purchased plans cannot be canceled or changed, so buyers should choose their account count and purchase carefully.

Payments are processed through a secure third-party payment gateway, and support is available by email and WhatsApp.

Platforms

AlfaPTE runs on the web and has iOS and Android apps. The shared login and subscription make the mobile apps a practical extension of the web service rather than a separate account.

Who it's for

AlfaPTE suits PTE candidates who want AI-scored practice, multiple mock-test formats and progress tracking across desktop and mobile. It is also relevant to PTE training businesses that need a branded student portal and combined PTE and IELTS administration. It is less suitable for candidates who need generous free scoring, or institutes that need fewer than five accounts or concurrent users on a single account.

Pros and cons

Pros: Full, sectional, timed and custom mock tests give candidates several ways to organize practice.
Pros: One login and subscription works across web and mobile, and the apps add 24-language support, dark mode and MP3 listening practice.
Pros: Institute tools combine branded practice, student management and analytics, with a partner panel for PTE and IELTS.
Cons: Free scoring is capped by skill, with only one-time Writing and SST checks, limiting repeated feedback without a paid plan.
Cons: Institute buyers must purchase at least five accounts, each limited to one user at a time.
Cons: Purchased plans cannot be canceled or changed, which reduces flexibility if needs shift after purchase.

Alternatives

For a broader comparison, browse Language Test Prep Apps. Choose DETPractice if its 300 free practice questions and limited evaluations are enough to start, or if you want a Basic plan at 9.90 USD per month billed monthly, with 18,000+ questions and 10 AI corrections per month.

Gurully is another freemium option, with PTE Prime Membership plans described for seven and 15 days. Cambridge Play offers free practice with five hearts, one replenished every 90 minutes, plus Writing and Speaking through stage 5 of each level and one daily gift. E2Language offers a web-based Express course with lessons, practice activities and live classes, with an Express+ package that adds a teacher-guided element.

PTE Tutorials is worth considering for free practice questions, model answers and mobile access. APEUni PTE offers a VIP plan with unlimited Speaking and Writing AI scoring and unlimited scored mock tests during the VIP period. Celpip AI has three scored sessions for the life of the device without a card or account, alongside free Reading and Listening practice. Official PTE Academic AI Practice is the web-only alternative for readers seeking official PTE Academic practice, with free diagnostic tests and sample AI scoring.

Verdict

AlfaPTE is a strong fit for PTE candidates who want AI feedback, flexible mock-test formats and a single web-and-mobile account, or for institutes that can meet its five-account minimum. Its free tier is useful for trying the service, not for unlimited practice, and the no-cancel-or-change purchase rule is a clear reason to compare options before committing.
