In their own words
Alitu
Alitu is a web-based tool for recording, editing, publishing and hosting podcasts. It can record audio and video calls in the product or accept uploads from a phone, Zoom or computer. Automatic production tools include background-noise removal, mixing, mastering, EQ, and removal of filler words and silence. Editing works through transcript text or a waveform; episodes can be assembled with drag-and-drop, and edits can be restored after publishing. Alitu offers one-click publishing to destinations including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Pandora, Deezer, iHeartRadio and TuneIn. Hosting includes episode scheduling, statistics and a podcast website, with up to 1,000 monthly downloads free. Paid hosting tiers range from $10 a month for up to 10,000 downloads to $60 a month for up to 100,000. The main plan costs $38 a month or $380 a year, with two months free on annual billing. A seven-day trial includes full feature access and up to two hours of audio processing. The service requires an internet connection and recommends laptop or desktop use.
Iris.fm
Iris.fm records remote podcast interviews in a browser, capturing each participant locally and delivering separate audio and video files for editing. Live captions appear during a session and are saved with the recording, while progressive uploads back up the session as it proceeds. Guests join through a browser link without installing an app or creating an Iris account. Rooms support host, producer, and guest roles with device controls and up to nine people recording at once. The service supports desktop and laptop browsers as well as iPhone and Android, with Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge listed. Users can create a branded studio with a custom URL. Paid plans include Google Drive and Dropbox uploads, and recording hours are counted by total session time rather than multiplied by participant count. Starter costs $9 a month and includes two recording hours; Pro costs $19 a month and includes five, while Studio costs $29 a month and includes ten. Iris operates its services in the United States, where information from users elsewhere is transferred, stored, and processed.
