In their own words

Alteryx Designer

Alteryx Designer brings data preparation, blending, and predictive, statistical, and spatial analytics into a visual workflow environment. Users arrange drag-and-drop tools on a canvas that records each analysis step; the product page describes more than 300 automation tools. Its low-code and no-code capabilities cover spatial and prescriptive analytics, as well as extracting insights from PDFs, text files, and images. Ask Alteryx can build workflows from natural-language requests, and the AI Tool Palette can add LLMs to workflows. The product page lists connections to more than 80 data sources and outputs to over 70 tools, including cloud connectors such as Snowflake and Databricks. SDKs let users add custom tools and formulas using multiple programming languages. Designer Desktop requires Windows; macOS use is listed through a virtual machine. A separate Designer Cloud runs in a browser with current Chrome, Edge, or Firefox. Starter Edition costs $250 a month, billed annually, for 1–10 seats, cloud-only use, and CSV, XLSX, and JSON file sources.

qsv

qsv is a CSV data-wrangling toolkit for slicing, analyzing, and transforming data through more than 50 commands. Most commands stream their input and use constant memory, so they can handle very large CSV files without loading the full dataset into memory. It works with CSV, Excel, OpenDocument Spreadsheet, JSON and JSONL, DataPackage, Apache Arrow and Parquet, SQLite, and PostgreSQL. Luau and Python scripting are built in, and the join, joinp, and sqlp commands support SQL and join queries without a SQL database. qsv is designed to interoperate with Airbyte, Airflow, Pentaho Kettle, and command-line tools. Its qsv pro desktop app adds graphical spreadsheet viewing and transformation, plus CKAN upload and download. The code is automatically checked for security vulnerabilities, and prebuilt binary archives are zipsigned with integrity checks during self-updates. qsv requires UTF-8 input. The Free plan costs nothing and includes spreadsheet imports up to 1MB; Pro costs $99.99 a month after the trial ends.
