AltText.ai generates image descriptions intended to support accessibility and help search engines understand image content. It supports more than 130 languages and can be used through its web service, integrations, browser extensions, and developer tools. Listed integrations include WordPress, Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, BigCommerce, Contentful, DatoCMS, Storyblok, Cloudinary, Dropbox, Pinterest, and Google Drive. Developers can use a REST API, webhooks, or an MCP server; Chrome and Firefox extensions generate descriptions for web images. A free scanner checks up to 25 pages for missing alt text and reports an AI visibility score. One credit covers one image, and each additional language translation costs another credit. Standard formats include JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP, and BMP. Paid plans also support formats such as AVIF, HEIC, HEIF, JP2, SVG, and TIFF at two credits per image. Prices include a 3.00 USD one-time pack of 50 credits and annual Bronze at $49 a year. AltText.ai says submitted images are removed after processing and are not used to train AI models without expressed written consent.
