In their own words
Amazon Personalize
Amazon Personalize is a managed machine-learning service that uses customer data to create item recommendations and user segments. It supports personalized recommendations, ranked results, similar items, personalized search, user segmentation, Trending Now, and Next Best Action. Recommendations can be returned in real time or prepared in batches for bulk workflows. Its user-personalization recipe supports training on up to 3 billion interactions and 5 million unique items. Inference is available through the getRecommendations and getPersonalizedRanking APIs; an OpenSearch v2.9-and-later plugin personalizes search results in real time. Integrations include Amazon S3, SageMaker AI Data Wrangler, AWS Amplify, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Amplitude, Braze, Optimizely, and Segment. AWS states that data is encrypted and each customer account’s models remain separate. The service is available on Android, iOS, web, and through an API. The AWS Free Tier is free for the first two months of usage; pay-as-you-go has no minimum fees or upfront commitments, with specific rates varying by usage.
Evolv AI
Evolv AI uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to optimize digital customer experiences through experimentation and personalization. Generative AI can create experiment copy, imagery, and code, while an assistant recommends UX strategies from a database of strategies and audience learnings. During an experiment, the platform can remove poorly performing ideas and adjust variants. Audience management and auto-personalization tailor experiences for defined groups. Supported tests include A/B, A/B/n, and multivariate testing, with a visual editor, audience targeting, and feature flags. Evolv provides a JavaScript client for website and web-application experiments and describes the platform as API-first. Scale lists Snowflake and Redshift integrations. Native mobile app testing, email testing with ESP integration, and pricing and parameter testing are add-ons. Plans are Optimize, Build, and Scale, each priced on request; Scale adds SSO and those data integrations. Evolv AI was founded in 2019 and is headquartered in San Francisco.
