AMD Auto-Detect and Install Tool
AMD Auto-Detect and Install Tool checks a Windows PC for compatible AMD Radeon graphics, AMD Ryzen chipsets, and the installed Windows version, then downloads drivers for detected devices. It is free and requires an internet connection. AMD lists support for Windows 11 version 21H2 and later, and Windows 10 64-bit version 1809 and later. When newer drivers are available, users can choose components, customize setup, skip the current driver, or cancel. Driver choices include Recommended versions certified by Microsoft and Optional versions with the latest features and bug fixes. Install modes are Default, Minimal, and Driver Only, and an option enables automatic updates. Factory Reset removes earlier AMD Software Package versions and temporarily pauses Windows Updates; previous drivers cannot be restored afterward. Keep user settings preserves AMD Software settings and profiles for reapplication after the reset. Systems outside the tool's supported scope, including other operating systems or AMD products, are directed to AMD Product Selector for manual driver selection. AMD says it may collect system configuration, hardware, software-version, and installation-log information.
DriverMax
DriverMax scans Windows PCs for devices with newer drivers and shows reports on how driver packages performed on other machines. Its catalogue covers more than 2,300,000 devices. Driver matching considers hardware and compatible IDs, driver date, declared operating system, and performance reports. Before installation, it archives the current driver and creates a Windows restore point; it can also back up and restore drivers. Packages are checked for threats and signatures, with signing status shown before installation. Scheduled background scans are included in both Free and PRO. The free plan allows unlimited scanning, backup, and restore, but limits installations to two per day and ten per month. Paid plans remove that limit and start at $4.95 per month. DriverMax 18 supports Windows 11, 10, 8.1, 8, and 7 in 32-bit and 64-bit editions, plus corresponding Windows Server editions. During scanning, hardware identifiers leave the PC for lookup. The app lets users contact support and review or untick application logs and Windows details before sending.
