In their own words
Amplify Classroom
Amplify Classroom is a web teaching platform for K–12 math, literacy, and science, with more than 1,000 free interactive lessons. Its teacher dashboard shows student responses and thinking in real time. Teachers can pause a lesson or move every student screen forward together, and select and sequence student work for anonymous class discussion. They can copy and edit existing lessons or create new ones with a drag-and-drop builder. Class tools support multiple classes, co-teachers, and roster organization. The free account provides teaching tools and lessons without a district license or subscription. Integrations include Google sign-in, Google Classroom roster imports, and Clever rostering for Amplify customers; Amplify also lists connections with Canvas, ClassLink, D2L, SchoolDay, Safari Montage, and Schoology. The platform is designed to facilitate compliance with student-data privacy laws. Amplify encrypts student data in transit and at rest, and its information-security program uses NIST frameworks and controls. Annual SOC 2 Type 2 examinations cover relevant security controls. Some Amplify Desmos Math and Amplify CKLA content requires a school or district subscription.
CK-12 FlexBook 2.0
CK-12 FlexBook 2.0 provides customizable digital textbooks for K–12 subjects including science, math, and social studies. Lessons can combine text with PLIX interactives, simulations, adaptive practice, and related learning materials. Adaptive Practice draws questions from a library of more than 150,000 and adjusts selections based on student answers. Teachers can assign lessons, videos, interactives, and practice to whole classes or differentiated groups, then view progress reports. Educators can reorder chapters and edit or add content in customized FlexBooks. The service works in browsers on laptops, desktops, Chromebooks, tablets, and mobile devices, and is listed at free. Standalone Simulations and PLIX Interactives require a tablet-size screen or larger. Users may download PDFs of FlexBooks they create or customize, though interactive content may not render; CK-12-created PDFs are not downloadable. CK-12 says it is still converting all core content to FlexBook 2.0. Listed SSO or LMS partners include Google Classroom, Canvas, Schoology, Kiddom, Clever, and ClassLink.
