In their own words

Amulet Map Editor

Amulet Map Editor modifies Minecraft world saves and converts worlds, including between Java and Bedrock when both can be opened. It can repair corrupt areas, move or copy builds, fill or replace blocks, delete chunks, and import or export structure formats. It supports Java releases from 1.12 and Bedrock releases from 1.7, but not snapshots, beta releases, or previews. Supported formats include Java and Bedrock saves and the Amulet construction format, which stores chunk data for both editions, allows multiple selection boxes, and keeps sub-chunks individually. Amulet is written in Python 3 and provides an API for world-data changes and custom operations. It runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux. The maker recommends copying worlds before editing. Bedrock Marketplace worlds cannot be opened, and entities and items are unsupported except during conversion within the same platform; entities should remain in place. Version 0.10.44 is the last free release and cannot open worlds from newer game versions. Paid plans provide compiled builds for one year and a perpetual license to use Amulet-Team software released within one year after purchase.

Project Lodestone

Project Lodestone is a free, open-source toolset for editing and converting Minecraft worlds across Java, Bedrock, console, and other editions. It is still in development, with desktop and web user interfaces described for the project. Documentation lists Java, Bedrock, Raspberry Pi, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and 4, PlayStation Vita, Wii U, 3DS, Switch, and Classic Javascript Remake. Planned save editing covers player, region, chunk, and level data, while conversion aims to span editions and versions with options such as depth fixing and lighting recalculation. Listed formats include NBT, S-NBT, MCR/MCA, GRF, MCS, ARC, LOC, PCK, COL, FUI, CDB, and VDB. Other roadmap tools include biome, entity and block-entity, hex, LevelDB, datapack, and map-item editors. libLodestone provides file reading, writing, and conversion for many editions and versions, including Java, Legacy Console, New Nintendo 3DS, and classic.minecraft.net worlds. The app roadmap treats user-facing loading and exporting as planned work. Some converter versions are unavailable in the app, and many listed versions are expected rather than completed support. The project uses an LGPL-3.0 license and is not an official Microsoft, Minecraft, or Mojang Studios product.
