In their own words
AnalyticVue
AnalyticVue brings K–12 information from district systems into analytics for schools and districts. Its dashboards and roster views provide color-coded alerts, sorting, filtering, and student-level drill-downs. Data can come from student information systems, learning management systems, diagnostic and summative assessments, and other sources. AI tools explain dashboard results, assist with school improvement plans, predict dropout risk, and forecast assessment scores. The cloud-based SaaS platform describes out-of-box integrations, single sign-on, and a standards-based API environment that includes SIF and Ed-Fi. It is available through web and API platforms. The company says its data architecture is intended to support security and privacy, and its privacy policy describes protections for personal information in transit and after receipt. A 30-day trial focuses on SIS uploads and a couple of assessments, with predefined district administrator, principal, and teacher roles. Trial support includes documentation, email, and scheduled meetings as needed. Pricing is by contacting sales; subscription fees and user counts are set in a customer schedule. There is no free plan.
EdOptimize
EdOptimize is a free, open-source learning analytics platform for K-12 digital learning systems, delivered through self-hosted web dashboards. It has three dashboards: Platform Analytics, Curriculum Analytics, and Implementation Analytics. Platform Analytics presents overall usage, trends, geography, product and content-type use, and leaderboards. Curriculum Analytics covers content use, assessment and item analysis, skill performance, curriculum pacing, and leaderboards. Implementation Analytics helps district leaders and success managers follow activity across districts, schools, and classes. The dashboards draw on online platform event logs and assessment item-response data. Setup requires preparing the inputs, running the R data-preparation script for each dashboard, and then running that dashboard's app.R file. Geography is set to US states by default, though the repository says it can be adjusted for other geographies. Live demos of all three dashboards are linked and hosted on shinyapps.io. The free offering uses GPLv3: modifications and copies must retain that license and disclose their source code. Maintainers invite support questions through a GitHub issue and provide an email contact for professional help.
