Anara
Anara is an AI tool for scientific workflows, helping researchers search literature, understand sources, synthesize findings and write cited work. Its Agent searches a library, the web and academic databases; Anara says its academic search spans more than 500 million papers, including sources such as PubMed, arXiv and JSTOR. Answers link citations to exact passages in source documents. Supported materials include PDFs, Word documents, PowerPoints, spreadsheets, images, audio and video, and a conversation can cover up to 10,000 documents in a library. Connectors include Zotero, Mendeley, Google Drive, Notion, OneDrive, Dropbox, Slack, Teams, PubMed and ClinicalTrials.gov. A scientific writing editor offers citation suggestions and LaTeX support. Access is listed for the web, macOS, iOS and Chrome extension. Anara states that it is SOC 2 Type II and ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certified and GDPR and HIPAA compliant. Data is processed and stored in the United States; EU-only data residency is not available. Paid plans start at $10/user/mo (annual).

Ask questions about document contents, search for answers, summarize findings, or compare documents; responses include citations that link to relevant sections in source files. Users can also embed Humata’s PDF AI in a webpage, while its API provides programmatic access to documents, conversations, and answers. The product is available on the web and through an API, with file uploads supported. The Free plan costs nothing and includes one user and up to 60 pages of monthly use. Expert costs $999 a month for three users and 500 pages, with $0.02 per additional page. Team costs $49 a month per user for 10 users and 5,000 pages, with $0.01 per additional page. Humata supports SAML 2.0 sign-on and states that it encrypts customer data at rest and in transit, is SOC 2 Type II compliant, and does not use user-provided data to train its models.
