In their own words
Anato
Anato combines USMLE question practice, study notes, and lessons built around a 3D anatomy model. Its question bank covers Step 1, Step 2 CK, and Step 3 with NBME-style clinical vignettes. Users can work through a question at a time or timed blocks, consult lab values, flag questions, and review explanations. Progress tracking records block scores, time, right and wrong answers, and accuracy by topic and exam step. In the 3D sandbox, users can switch body systems, reveal layers, select structures, and trace nerve and blood supply. Anatomy lesson cards use spaced repetition. Notes are arranged by exam step and subject, with key facts highlighted; gynecology and obstetrics are being written first, with other subjects in progress. An account works on the web, iPhone, and Android, with progress synced between devices. The Free plan uses energy limits and includes bones and muscles in the sandbox plus the first section of each notes book. Pro costs $9.99 a month or $59.99 a year, billed monthly or once a year, and unlocks all questions, notes, sandbox layers, and lessons.
OpenHuman Atlas
OpenHuman Atlas is an interactive 3D human anatomy atlas for searching, isolating, and inspecting structures. It covers 11 body systems with independent visibility controls, structure selection, labeled metadata, cross-section slicing, and region-based navigation. Atlas AI answers questions about a selected structure and its relationships to nearby anatomy alongside the model. Illustration tools include a skeletal rig, bone posing, a pose animator, video AR with body tracking, and a webcam-driven skeletal overlay. Explorer is free and includes full atlas access, system-by-system exploration, region navigation, anatomical search, and augmented reality exploration. Professional costs $49/mo and adds AI guidance, high-quality image export, video recording, and 3D model and print-ready export. Institution costs $99/mo per seat and adds organization-owned access, team billing and seat management, rollout and onboarding support, and team collaboration. It runs on iOS, macOS, and web. Guided study paths, VR exploration, animation exports, and several surgical simulation capabilities are marked coming soon. The terms describe it as educational and informational, not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
