| Spec score · Container Registries | 8.0 (#10) | 7.6 (#25) |
| OCI compatibility | Angos supports Docker, Podman, containerd, and other OCI tools, including OCI referrers for signatures and SBOMs. | The registry implements the OCI Distribution Specification and works with Docker, Podman, nerdctl, crane, skopeo, and Kubernetes without a plugin or wrapper. |
| Product | Angos is an OCI registry configured in one file and run without a database. | lazer.sh is a private container registry for storing and distributing container images. |
| Retention | Retention rules can keep tags by age, semantic-version pattern, or recent pushes and pulls; immutable tags can protect releases from overwrites. | Users can configure retention rules to reclaim untagged images. |
| Security | The security model documents TLS, authentication, rate limiting, and fail-closed authorization behavior for critical security decisions. | The privacy notice states that data is encrypted in transit with TLS and at rest in object storage, and API keys and sign-in codes are stored as one-way hashes. |

In their own words
lazer.sh
lazer.sh is a private container registry for storing and distributing container images, with Linux, web, and API access. It implements the OCI Distribution Specification and works with Docker, Podman, nerdctl, crane, skopeo, and Kubernetes without a plugin or wrapper. The maker says images are served from more than 330 edge locations. Pulls are unlimited and unmetered on every tier, including Free, with no egress fees; storage charges are based on compressed layer bytes and deduplicated within each project. Keys can be limited by project, repository, actions, and expiry date. A JSON management API handles project, repository, key, and member operations, and the documentation includes a GitHub Actions guide for image pushes. Retention rules can remove untagged images. Free includes 5 GB of storage, two projects, and five members per project. Hobby costs $4.99 per month; Pro costs $24.99 per month. The service is in private beta, with invite-only signup. Its terms state a 99.9% monthly availability target for pulls, without a contractual guarantee or service credits.
