In their own words
AnimationMaker
AnimationMaker is a free Linux application for creating animated presentation videos, including YouTube or Vimeo presentations and crowdfunding pitch videos. It supports motion graphics, custom asset uploads, and video export. Projects can be exported as movies, animated GIFs, XML files, or HTML animations. Movie output uses formats supported by FFmpeg, including MPG, MP4, and AVI. HTML output uses SVG and GSAP, and the exported SVG can be embedded in an HTML page. The maker offers the latest Linux release at no cost. The repository lists DEB and RPM installers; release 1.9.2 includes packages for Ubuntu 18.04 LTS and Fedora 34. Build instructions use Qt and provide command-line steps for Debian or Ubuntu. The idea came from Adobe Edge, which is no longer available. Feature requests can be emailed to [email protected]. The contact section names Olaf Japp and gives a Berlin, Germany mailing address. The listed plan is free.
Emaze
Emaze is a browser-based creation platform for presentations, websites, photo albums, eCards, blogs, training quizzes, digital business cards, surveys, and forms. Its AI-assisted tools are described for creating presentations, websites, photo albums, and eCards without design skills. Presentations offer 2D and 3D templates, embedded media, and charts, and can be shared or published as websites. Users can comment on projects, share brand assets, and set viewing, editing, and commenting permissions. Groups and custom dashboards organize collections for classes, teams, or clients using roles and permissions. Analytics cover opens, unique viewers, view time, and engagement, with custom tracking links and lead scoring. Emaze imports PowerPoint files but does not export to PowerPoint. Paid plans include downloads to PDF, MP4, and HTML, offline use, and Zoom video conferencing. A free plan and education plans are available. The platform runs on the web; its maker identifies it as SOC 2 Type II audited and GDPR compliant.
