In their own words
AnimationMaker
AnimationMaker is a free Linux application for creating animated presentation videos, including YouTube or Vimeo presentations and crowdfunding pitch videos. It supports motion graphics, custom asset uploads, and video export. Projects can be exported as movies, animated GIFs, XML files, or HTML animations. Movie output uses formats supported by FFmpeg, including MPG, MP4, and AVI. HTML output uses SVG and GSAP, and the exported SVG can be embedded in an HTML page. The maker offers the latest Linux release at no cost. The repository lists DEB and RPM installers; release 1.9.2 includes packages for Ubuntu 18.04 LTS and Fedora 34. Build instructions use Qt and provide command-line steps for Debian or Ubuntu. The idea came from Adobe Edge, which is no longer available. Feature requests can be emailed to [email protected]. The contact section names Olaf Japp and gives a Berlin, Germany mailing address. The listed plan is free.
OpenDeck
OpenDeck is a free player for self-contained presentation documents in the `.deck` format. An AI agent can build a deck from a talk description, document, or spreadsheet, including its structure, slides, motion, and voice narration. Decks can also contain toggles, drag-to-reorder controls, and tap-to-reveal interactions. Users can export a `.deck` file for OpenDeck apps or a standalone HTML page. A `.deck` file includes what it needs for playback and can run offline without depending on a server. OpenDeck runs on iPhone, iPad, and Mac; exported HTML decks open in modern browsers on any device. The homepage lists browser and Windows apps as available and says Android is coming soon. Setup options are offered for Claude Code, Claude web, Claude desktop, Antigravity CLI, OpenCode, and Codex. OpenDeck is free forever with no in-app purchases. Its privacy policy says the app collects no personal data and makes no network requests, and that imported decks remain on the device. The app is Apache-2.0 licensed, its authoring kit is MIT licensed, and the `.deck` format is CC0 public domain.
