In their own words
Animaze
Animaze is avatar-based entertainment software for creating and using interactive characters. It supports 2D and 3D avatar workflows, lip sync, hand and full-body tracking, virtual camera use, and recording. Users can track through a webcam or iPhone, with additional support for Leap Motion, audio-based lip trackers, and Tobii eye trackers. Imports include Live2D, VRM, Ready Player Me, and Union Avatars models; the PC Avatar Editor can test imported Live2D or 3D-modeling-tool avatars and export them for Animaze. The service connects with OBS, Streamlabs, Discord, Zoom, Google Meet, Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook Gaming. It is aimed at streamers, YouTubers, VTubers, artists, creatives, and businesses, and an enterprise SDK provides APIs for adding characters to iOS, Android, or PC apps. Animaze has a free plan. Plus is $3.99 a month, billed $47.88/year; Pro is $9.99 a month, billed $119.88/year. Business plans are $499.99 a year and $1,699.99 a year; Enterprise pricing is tailored.
OpenVT
OpenVT is free, open-source software for 2D Vtubing, with native Linux desktop support as a stated priority. It imports Live2D avatars and works with OpenSeeFace, which requires a separate executable, or with VTubeStudio over Wi-Fi TCP. Transparent windows support alpha-based capture in OBS without a virtual camera or direct framebuffer access. Adjustable filtering can sharpen pixel-art model scaling, and multi-window popout controls provide separate control windows. Models can be shared with VTubeStudio without changing their files, while OpenVT keeps its own settings separate to avoid naming collisions. The project is built in Godot using open-source solutions and targets VTubeStudio feature parity, excluding complex features such as plugin compatibility and VNet. Precompiled itch.io builds are offered nightly when changes occur, though they are not guaranteed stable. OpenVT is available on Linux under a free plan listed as free, billed as “Name your own price.”
