In their own words
Anvil
Anvil is an online IDE for building and deploying full-stack web apps with Python. It pairs a drag-and-drop interface designer with client-side and server-side Python, and includes Data Tables, a built-in database backed by Postgres. Apps can be published to Anvil hosting or exported to run on the open-source Anvil App Server. Developers can create HTTP APIs and connect external Python code through Uplink. Built-in user authentication and app email support cover sending and receiving messages. Anvil documentation lists integrations for Google, Microsoft Entra ID, Facebook, Stripe and Tableau, and says Python SDKs can connect other services. Apps adapt to phones and tablets; the FAQ describes them as installable Progressive Web Apps for Android, iPhone and Chromebook, with offline operation. The Free plan includes unlimited apps and cloud hosting, but provides 50,000 Data Table rows and 100 MB of Data Table storage. Anvil says its hosted infrastructure is in London on AWS eu-west-2. It also says its API removes common flaws such as injection, XSS and CSRF.
Omnis Studio
Omnis Studio is a development environment and integrated application server for building desktop, web, and mobile applications from one codebase. Its tools include a visual development environment, Method Editor, integrated debugging, and an application server. It supports Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android, and browsers, with cloud or on-premise deployment. Data connectivity includes native connectors for Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL, and SAP HANA, alongside ODBC, JDBC, REST, SOAP, JSON, and XML. The free Community Edition is aimed at hobby and non-commercial projects and limits deployment to five concurrent users. Professional Edition supports web, mobile, and desktop development, unlimited apps, and chargeable user licenses; it can be evaluated free for up to 90 days with all features. Community Edition offers email support for Omnis Studio issues, but excludes questions about databases, browsers, APIs, devices, and hardware. Developer subscriptions can be monthly or annual and can be ended with 30 days' notice. When a subscription ends, the developer license stops working, and access to projects, updates, bug fixes, and technical support ends.
