Overview

Any.do brings tasks, lists, reminders and calendar planning into one app, for people who want everyday planning alongside shared family or team work. Its free Personal plan is unusually capable on basic task volume; the trade-off is that some advanced reminder and recurring-task features sit in paid plans.

Key features

Tasks and planning

Personal includes tasks, lists, reminders, a calendar, a daily planner and device sync. Unlimited personal tasks and lists, plus unlimited subtasks and Grocery Lists, make the free tier practical for ongoing use rather than a short trial. Recurring tasks are supported, but are identified as a Premium feature, so users who rely on repeating routines should budget for a paid plan.

Reminders and calendar

Reminders can be time-based, location-based or recurring, and Any.do supports calendar sync. Location alerts add a useful context to task planning, while calendar sync helps keep commitments alongside to-dos. The feature set is broader than basic list-making, though the plan distinction matters: Premium specifically includes recurring tasks and location reminders.

Shared work

Family provides a shared space for four members, groceries and up to four shared projects. That is a clear fit for household coordination, but the fixed membership and project allowance make it less suitable for a growing group. Teams removes those ceilings with unlimited members and project boards, collaborative workspaces and more than 100 workflow templates. Workspace and board admins can manage permissions and private boards, which is useful when not every team member should see every board.

Integrations and access

Any.do works with more than 6,000 apps for work automation, including WhatsApp, Gmail, Slack, Zapier, Siri, Jira, Trello and Google Drive. Teams users also get round-the-clock support from AI agents and the customer support team. Apps and extensions cover iOS, Android, Windows, Mac, Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari and Gmail; offline access is supported on web and mobile. This breadth suits people switching among devices and services, while the named integrations span both personal assistants and work tools.

Pricing

Personal is free forever, requires no credit card, and includes unlimited personal tasks and lists. It is the sensible starting point for individual planning, especially if basic reminders and calendar tools are enough. The free tier's large task allowance is a strength, but it does not include every feature Any.do sells as Premium.

Premium costs 4.99 USD per month billed annually, or 7.99 USD per month billed monthly. Both prices are per user only where stated for Teams; Premium is described as cancellable at any time with no commitment. It adds recurring tasks, WhatsApp reminders, AI-powered features, color tags and location reminders. Choose it when those tools matter; otherwise, Personal preserves the core planning functions without a subscription.

Family costs 8.33 USD per month billed annually or 9.99 USD per month billed monthly, covering four members with no additional member cost. Its shared space and up to four projects make the annual option cheaper for households confident they will keep using it; monthly billing costs more but avoids an annual term.

Teams costs 4.99 USD per member per month billed annually, or 7.99 USD per member per month billed monthly. It includes unlimited project boards and members, with a 14-day trial and free team invitations during the trial. The annual price suits established teams that want lower per-member billing; monthly billing costs more but avoids annual commitment. Teams also includes more than 100 workflow templates and 24/7 support. Premium plans offer free trial periods, and purchases may be refunded subject to the terms of service.

Platforms

Any.do supports web, Windows, macOS, iOS, Android and a Chrome extension, with apps and extensions also offered for Edge, Firefox, Safari and Gmail. Offline access works on web and mobile. That makes it a reasonable cross-device choice, although the stated offline support does not extend to desktop apps or browser extensions.

Who it's for

Any.do is best for individuals who want a generous free task-and-calendar foundation, families coordinating groceries and shared projects, and teams that need flexible membership and board permissions. It is less compelling for someone who only needs a basic repeating-task list and expects that feature to remain free, or for a household that needs more than four members or four shared projects.

Pros and cons

Pros: The free Personal plan has no stated task cap and includes reminders, calendar, daily planning and sync, so individuals can use it without an immediate upgrade.
Pros: Family pricing covers four people without extra member charges, while Teams has no stated member or project-board cap.
Pros: Broad integrations, multiple app and extension options, and web/mobile offline access support varied workflows.
Cons: Recurring tasks and location reminders are Premium features, limiting what free users can do with routines and context-sensitive alerts.
Cons: Family is capped at four members and four shared projects, so larger households may outgrow it.
Cons: Teams pricing is per member, so its total rises with team size even though membership is uncapped.

Alternatives

For a different personal-planning option, Routine offers a free plan with three integrations, three custom databases and 250 AI credits; consider it if those limits align better with your workflow. Taskade AI Agents has a free plan with two users, 6,000 one-time credits, up to three apps and one AI agent, making it worth comparing if those allowances suit your needs. TickTick offers a free plan with basic tasks, reminders, sync and lists, capped at nine lists and 99 tasks per list; it may fit someone comfortable with those limits.

Amazing Marvin is a paid alternative with a free trial. FlowSavvy, Ganttic, Paymo and Reclaim AI are other alternatives to compare.

Verdict

Choose Any.do if you want a free, capable personal planner that can extend into household sharing or a permission-managed team workspace. Its strongest case is the combination of unlimited free task volume and clear paths to family or team collaboration. Look elsewhere if repeating routines must be free, or if a family needs more than four seats or shared projects.
