In their own words
Apacer SSDWidget 2.0
Apacer SSDWidget 2.0 is an SSD monitoring and maintenance utility centered on S.M.A.R.T. status, drive lifetime, and workload analysis. Listed attributes include initial and later bad block counts, maximum and average erase counts, power-on hours, and power cycles. Disk erase is also listed as a feature. Apacer describes an app for monitoring drive status from a smart mobile device and remote, real-time monitoring when SSDWidget 2.0 is paired with CoreAnalyzer2 in its Double-barreled Solution. An SDK is available for customers building an SSD monitoring interface for a customized Linux OS; a customer used it to develop Linux solutions for monitoring older and newer storage products. The industrial downloads page lists version v2.4.14.0826 in English for Windows, updated 2025/09/15, at 21.69 MB, for PCIe/SATA3 products. This listing does not establish compatibility with every SSD brand. Apacer positions SSDs as boot drives and mission-critical storage in embedded and industrial systems with heavy workloads. The utility is listed as free.
Argus Disk
Argus Disk is a Linux SMART monitoring daemon for homelab systems. It gathers drive attributes every six hours and keeps a rolling 180-day history; linear regression uses that record to estimate when an attribute may reach its critical threshold. The maker says its thresholds are calibrated with Backblaze failure data rather than vendor defaults. Temperature anomaly detection uses z-scores, requiring a score of at least 2.0 over 10 or more samples. Optional ntfy integration can send status-change alerts with priority routing. An optional Prometheus exporter makes disk health, status, temperature, sector counts, forecasts, and overall status available to dashboards such as Grafana. Argus supports JMicron JMB576 pass-through for multi-bay DAS enclosures, including TerraMaster D5-300 and similar devices. The maker says it runs on the user's hardware, without cloud use, and keeps data within the user's network. It requires a Linux host, Python 3.10 or later, and smartmontools; ntfy and Prometheus with Grafana are optional. Argus is free and distributed under the MIT License.
