| Deployment | The documentation describes downloading and extracting Flink CDC and connector JARs, then running it with an Apache Flink deployment. | Deployment choices include shared public infrastructure, dedicated private data planes and bring-your-own-cloud environments. |
| Integrations | Pipeline connectors listed include Doris, Elasticsearch, Fluss, Hudi, Iceberg, Kafka, MaxCompute, MySQL, OceanBase, Oracle, Paimon, PostgreSQL, and StarRocks. | Estuary advertises more than 200 prebuilt connectors across databases, warehouses, SaaS apps, and cloud platforms, including Snowflake, BigQuery, Kafka, MySQL, and PostgreSQL. |
| Security | The repository links to a security policy, but its contents were not available in the opened page. | Official documentation states encryption in transit and at rest, immutable infrastructure, a zero-trust network model and role-based access control. |
| Support | The project directs users to its user mailing list for support and questions, and to Flink JIRA for problems. | The Cloud plan includes standard support through community Slack and email; Enterprise includes dedicated Slack and email support. |

In their own words
Apache Flink CDC
Apache Flink CDC is a distributed data integration tool for real-time and batch workloads, built on Apache Flink. It supports full database and sharded-table synchronization, schema evolution and data transformation. With its YAML Pipeline API, users can declare sources, sinks, routing, transformations and schema evolution rules. SQL and DataStream APIs are also available for defining CDC sources and custom Flink streaming applications. Listed pipeline connectors include Doris, Elasticsearch, Fluss, Hudi, Iceberg, Kafka, MaxCompute, MySQL, OceanBase, Oracle, Paimon, PostgreSQL and StarRocks. SQL and DataStream source connectors also include SQL Server, MongoDB, TiDB, Db2 and Vitess. Flink CDC 3.6 is listed as compatible with Flink 1.20 and 2.2; version 3.6.0 requires JDK 11 or later. Deployment is self-hosted: download and extract Flink CDC and connector JARs, then run them with an Apache Flink deployment. It is free under the Apache 2.0 License and lists Linux, macOS, Windows and self-hosted environments as platforms.
Estuary
Estuary is a managed data integration platform for combining change data capture, batch, streaming, and app synchronization for analytics, operations, and AI. It supports transformations while data is moving, using SQL, Python, or TypeScript, and describes delivery as exactly once with end-to-end latency under 100 milliseconds. More than 200 prebuilt connectors cover databases, warehouses, SaaS apps, and cloud platforms, including Snowflake, BigQuery, Kafka, MySQL, and PostgreSQL. Customers can store data in their own cloud bucket for a duration they choose, and select public, private, or Bring Your Own Cloud deployment. Estuary lists SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA, HITECH, CCPA, and GDPR among its compliance standards, and says data is encrypted in transit and at rest. It is available through API, self-hosted, and web options. The indefinite free tier is limited to 10 GB per month and two concurrent connector instances; paid plans start at $100 a month.
