Apache OpenOffice Impress
Apache OpenOffice Impress is free desktop software for creating multimedia presentations. It runs on Windows, GNU/Linux, and macOS, and can import or save PowerPoint .ppt and .pptx files while also using OpenDocument format. Presentation creation includes drawing tools, animation, special effects, and 2D and 3D clip art. Slides, Outline, Notes, and Handouts views are available, with an optional multi-pane view. Presenter Screen and multiple-monitor support can show upcoming slides, time, and speaker notes. Impress can export Flash .swf versions, and downloadable templates and third-party extensions can add functions. Listed data capabilities include editing, a visual query builder, and support for HSQLDB, dBase, Microsoft Access, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Adabas D, with CSV result export. Offline editing and track changes are listed; real-time collaboration is not. The software uses Apache License 2.0 and has volunteer, documentation, and consultant support.
