In their own words
Apache Pulsar
Apache Pulsar is a free, open-source distributed messaging and streaming platform built for cloud use. It supports message consumption with less than 10 ms latency and up to one million unique topics in a cluster. Configurable replication across geographic regions and automatic client failover to healthy clusters support multi-region deployments. Tenants and policies control access to data and actions, and can isolate brokers to limit noisy-neighbor effects. Maintained client libraries are available for Java, Go, Python, C++, Node.js, and C#. Built-in connectors move data to and from systems including Kafka, RabbitMQ, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, and Elasticsearch. Pulsar Functions process messages with user-defined logic in Java, Python, or Go. Tiered storage can offload data from BookKeeper to blob storage such as S3 for unlimited retention. It can run in Docker or Kubernetes, with a Helm chart for Kubernetes. Encryption, authentication, and authorization are available but are not enabled by default. The 5.0.0-M2 milestone is for early testing and feedback, not production use.
Sourcemeta One
Sourcemeta One is a self-hosted JSON Schema micro-service that turns Git repositories into searchable catalogs with governance features. Teams can organize schemas by team, department, domain, or vendor, and see lint-based quality scores. Schemas and registry configuration remain in Git, so changes can follow existing review workflows; the service has no database, write path, or stateful persistence. Its web explorer is optional, and headless deployments can use the HTTP API. It supports JSON Schema Draft 3, Draft 4, Draft 6, Draft 7, 2019-09, and 2020-12, alongside format validation, custom meta-schemas, annotation collection, and bundling. Community is a free self-hosted edition with a subset of functionality under Business Source License 1.1; releases transition to AGPL-3.0-or-later after four years. Enterprise requires a commercial license for production, with annual or perpetual terms and pricing on request. Docker images are provided for x64 and arm64, and Docker is the only officially supported running method. Commercial licenses include expert support and training; managed hosting is available upon request.
