In their own words
APEX
APEX is an AI lifting and diet coach for creating workout and nutrition plans, reviewing training and physique progress, and adjusting guidance over time. It analyzes logged gym performance and can suggest progression, warm-up weights, deloads, and routine changes. Meals can be recorded by photo, text, narration, file, or recipe; the app estimates nutrition and suggests meals aligned with user targets. APEX compares progress photos and other check-in results over time and provides body and muscle-development analysis. Its listed library contains 300+ exercises and 1,200+ ingredients. Plans can be tailored to available equipment, including home dumbbells or bodyweight, and the maker says the app suits beginners and seasoned athletes. The free plan includes uncapped logging, custom routines, analytics, full training history, a recovery map, 10 smart meal logs, and five smart workout plans. Premium adds automatic progression, routine improvements, unlimited assistant chats, meal logs and plans, plus body analysis and check-ins. Premium costs $9.99 per month or $70 per year. The 30-day free month auto-renews unless canceled before it ends. APEX is available on iOS and Android; health data is entered manually, with no device health-platform integrations.
PaceAdapt
PaceAdapt creates personalised weekly running plans that adjust to training, recovery and goals. Plans respond to completed or missed runs and to a weekly check-in about how you feel and how much time you have. Before increasing intensity, the service considers training load and fatigue. A weekly reflection covers progress, areas needing attention and what comes next.
PaceAdapt imports recent runs, heart rate and training history through Intervals.icu, so users need a valid account there and authenticate with its OAuth service. Weekly plans can be pushed to a watch calendar, with completed runs syncing back. The homepage lists COROS, Garmin, Huawei Health and Polar watches, but one compatibility category supports analysis only, not workout pushes. An always-available AI coach can discuss plans and progress or regenerate a plan for the current week. PaceAdapt runs on web, iOS and Android. It has no free plan and offers a 14-day free trial, with cancellation available anytime.
