APIVerve Website Readability API
APIVerve Website Readability API analyzes a website and returns its readability score. It accepts webpage input, with API access for submitting requests programmatically, and lists eight readability scores and grade-level analysis. Requests use POST at /v1/websitereadability over HTTPS and require an API key in the x-api-key header; one key works across APIVerve’s 300+ APIs. Each call uses 10 credits from a shared account pool. Responses are available in JSON, XML, YAML, CSV, GraphQL and MCP. A live request tool on the product page can be tried without an API key, and a snippet can embed an interactive form without placing keys in markup. The service also names VerveKit, VerveSheets, automation integrations and Node.js, Python and.NET SDKs. Pricing is freemium: the Free plan provides 200 credits per month, while Starter costs $29.99 a month. The API is listed as online with a 99.9% uptime SLA and typical p50 latency of 1798 ms. APIVerve was founded in 2020 and is headquartered in Lee's Summit, Missouri.
Readability
Readability analyzes Markdown files and reports measures of reading complexity. It provides grade level, reading ease and estimated reading time calculated at 200 words per minute. The listed grade-level formulas are Flesch-Kincaid, Gunning Fog, Coleman-Liau, SMOG and ARI. It also measures word and sentence metrics and can detect or require MkDocs-style admonitions. Results can be produced as a table, Markdown, JSON, summary or report. Configurable thresholds can fail CI checks when documentation exceeds them, and a.readability.yml file supports path-specific overrides. The project documents a Go command-line tool, Docker, a GitHub Action and pre-commit hooks, alongside CI/CD examples for GitLab CI, CircleCI and Jenkins. Pre-built binaries are listed for Linux and macOS in amd64 and arm64, and Windows in amd64. The project identifies its license as MIT and lists no paid plans. Its documentation cautions that scores measure word and sentence complexity, not accuracy, completeness, context or tone.
