In their own words
Apollo
Apollo is a data intelligence and sales engagement platform for go-to-market teams. It describes a prospecting database with more than 240 million contacts and 30 million accounts, alongside email sequencing, automated outreach, dialing, call recording and pipeline tools. Apollo’s agents can research accounts, prioritize leads, write outreach, follow up and book meetings. The platform lists more than 200 integrations, including Salesforce, HubSpot, Outreach, SalesLoft, Marketo, Sendgrid, LinkedIn and major email providers. Its free Chrome extension provides contact and account insights, email finding and dialing, and can add prospects to lists or sequences. The Free plan is free and includes 900 credits per seat per year, granted monthly, two sequences, API access and one intent topic. Basic costs $49 a month billed annually, with 30,000 credits per seat per year granted upfront, email sequencing and core integrations. Trial credits and features are subject to limits; unused credits expire at the end of each billing cycle.
MailTag
MailTag categorizes incoming messages inside an inbox you already use. It supports Gmail, Google Workspace, iCloud, Yahoo, Fastmail and IMAP mailboxes, and checks for new mail every five minutes. You can use its categories or describe custom ones in a single line. Existing mail can be labeled in one pass without deletion. Sender and domain controls let you unsubscribe, archive or apply a label rule, with confirmation and undo. MailTag says processing happens in memory on its own hardware in Germany, without sending email to outside services or storing message content. App passwords are encrypted with AES-256-GCM. Paid plans provide per-category webhooks for services such as Slack, Discord, Zapier, Make and n8n; Business adds an HTTP Triage API. The Free plan covers one mailbox and 100 labeled emails monthly. Solo is $6.59 a year, Pro $14.08 a year and Business $36.58 a year, each billed annually as listed. Seven days of Pro are available without a card, after which accounts move to Free unless upgraded.
