In their own words
AppSignal
AppSignal is a cloud application-monitoring service for developers, with error tracking, performance monitoring, logs, and tracing. Error tracking groups exceptions with backtraces and the deployment linked to each issue. Performance monitoring covers response times, throughput, slow endpoints, and slow queries. Log management provides full-text search, attribute filters, saved queries, live tail, and pattern-based alerts. Distributed tracing, transaction tracing, and log correlation are available. AppSignal lists support for Ruby, Elixir, Node.js, JavaScript, Python, Go, Java, PHP, and Rust, with integrations including Slack, GitHub, Jira, Linear, GitLab, and PagerDuty. Its MCP server lets AI assistants such as Claude, Cursor, and Zed query production errors, traces, and deploys. The free plan costs nothing and includes 30K requests, 1GB logging, five-day retention, and unlimited users, teams, applications, and dashboards. Paid access is $279 a year, billed yearly at $23.25/month, with 250K requests per month. A 30-day full-featured trial requires no credit card. AppSignal says it does not charge overages or stop monitoring when limits are crossed.
Odigos
Odigos is self-hosted software for recording live runtime activity inside services, so engineers, AI agents and security teams can investigate production behavior without changing application code. It can collect traces, metrics, logs, profiles and function values, including evidence that would otherwise require an instrumentation release or redeployment. Odigos uses out-of-process eBPF capture; the company states it uses under 1% CPU and adds effectively zero latency. Access controls govern who can request captures, which workloads they cover and what can be collected. PII masking, attribute deletion and sampling can shape captured values in the cluster before export. Data is sent as OpenTelemetry to configured destinations, and Odigos can run alongside tools including Datadog, New Relic, Honeycomb, Grafana Cloud, Jaeger, Tempo, Loki and SigNoz. The listed supported languages are Go, Java, Python,.NET, JavaScript, PHP and Ruby. Deployment options include Kubernetes, VMs and bare metal. Odigos also supports function-level virtual patching to block matching application calls before a code release. The open-source plan costs nothing and includes community support. Enterprise has custom pricing and a 14-day free trial; it lists multi-cluster administration and 24/7 premium support. Oracle database tracing is marked “Coming Soon” on the plan comparison.
