In their own words

Apto.ONE

Apto.ONE is open-source software for building product configurators, available online or for local installation. It is designed for products with many variants, guiding customers through choices in OnePage or Step-by-Step mode. Configurations can show images or descriptions, with photorealistic high-resolution product display. A rule system checks dependencies between steps so customers can assemble feasible combinations; rules may be strict or soft. The software calculates prices as selections are made, including options for surcharges, discounts, special prices, and customer-group prices. An administration interface lets operators adjust products and configuration options, while the software can be adapted and extended. Configurations can feed a request process or connect to e-commerce systems; Shopware is named as an available integration, and connector availability should be checked through provider app stores. Customers can save configurations and return later. The free Open Source Edition can be installed on hosting, in a virtual machine, or locally on PC, Mac, or Linux. Documentation covers setup, 3D model requirements, connectors, and plugins.

ShapeDiver

ShapeDiver hosts Grasshopper files in the cloud and turns them into browser-based applications, including 3D product configurators. It lets teams share design tools without revealing the original Grasshopper code. A free account includes 50 monthly credits, and the 14-day trial provides access to all platform features with up to 60 seconds of computation time; account creation does not require a credit card. The platform offers APIs and SDKs for custom applications, with TypeScript, Python, and .NET SDKs listed for Business. Named integrations include Shopify, WooCommerce, iJewel3D, Speckle, Autodesk Forma, and VIKTOR.ai. ShapeDiver supports more than 40 Grasshopper plugins, though availability and limits depend on the plan. Its security documentation describes SOC 2 Type 2 verification and encryption of account, model, and computation data at rest and in transit. Startup costs €199/month with annual billing; Business costs €499/month with annual billing. Enterprise pricing is custom, and private server options are available, but on-premises deployment is not offered.
