In their own words

Arctera eDiscovery

Arctera eDiscovery supports legal, governmental, and corporate organizations managing digital evidence and document discovery across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. It can be deployed on premises, hosted in the cloud, or delivered as SaaS, and spans legal hold, data capture, processing, review, analysis, and production. Teams can automate up to 100 searches at a time using keywords and metadata. Collection includes prebuilt and custom connectors and custodian mapping for tracing data relationships. Analytics handles multiple formats and languages; review tools include concept-based and audio or video keyword search, redaction, conversation threading, and item tagging. Legal Hold Management covers notices, reminders, custodian surveys, and a portal for collecting data. Case teams can collaborate with distinct privileges, share searches, and add notes and tags. The SaaS offering includes InsightAI, described as using NLP, machine learning, and generative AI. The product supports requirements including FOIA, CCPA, and Data Subject Access Requests. Pricing is on request and there is no free plan. A pilot trial license expires after 60 days or when the pilot service ends, whichever comes first.

RedactLaw

RedactLaw is an AI-powered document redaction platform made for law firms. It detects personal information and HIPAA identifiers, applies context-aware recognition, and assigns confidence scores to help users review proposed redactions. Reviewers can compare a detection with the original, approve or reject items individually, or handle flagged items in bulk. The product says it removes underlying data permanently and clears metadata and hidden layers from redacted files. It accepts PDF, DOCX, XLSX, JPEG, PNG, and TIFF files, including scanned documents through OCR, and produces redacted PDFs. Templates cover medical records, court filings, FOIA responses, financial discovery, employment records, and immigration files. Redaction decisions, users, and timestamps appear in an audit trail, with PDF and CSV exports. RedactLaw is available on the web, by API, and as self-hosted software. The free plan allows five documents a month, up to ten pages each, for one user; paid plans start at $39 a month.
