Overview

Upload a JPG, PNG, or WEBP image and Artguru identifies the main subject, removes the background, and returns a transparent PNG. You can keep the transparency, select a solid color, or upload a custom image as the replacement background. That keeps a common cutout-and-replace task in one workflow rather than requiring a separate background editor.

Artguru says its machine-learning tool handles fine edges such as stray hair and animal fur, which is relevant for portraits and product images. It is a stated capability, not a guarantee that every difficult edge will come out clean.

The uploader accepts up to 200 images, but batch background removal is reserved for Pro. The distinction matters for shops with repeated image work: the capacity is useful only with the plan that enables batch processing.

Key features

Cutouts and background changes

Transparent PNG output is useful when the subject needs to move into a layout or design, while the solid-color and custom-image options suit users who want a finished background without switching tools. The product’s stated uses—e-commerce photography, social media graphics, and presentation portraits—are all straightforward matches for this workflow.

Privacy and data handling

Uploaded inputs may be used to improve Artguru’s AI models, and the policy says that training use is irreversible once incorporated into a model. That is a meaningful drawback for sensitive or commercially confidential images. Subscription media is kept for a year; free-trial media is kept for 24 hours. Users can clear data or delete an account, with associated personal information typically deleted or anonymized within 30 days, subject to exceptions.

Most collected information is stored and processed on servers in the United States, though it may also be accessed or processed elsewhere. Google, Apple, Facebook, and VK are optional sign-in providers. Support is available by email at support@artguru.ai.

Pricing

Artguru combines a free tier with paid credit use. Background removal costs 1 credit per image, shown as $0.01 per image. Credits expire at the end of the current subscription cycle and do not roll over, so users should avoid buying more than they expect to use within that period.

Plan	Price	What it includes
Free plan	Free	New users receive free credits; standard downloads up to 1024×1024 px.
Background removal usage	0.01 USD per month	Background removal costs 1 credit per image.
Artguru Pro	Custom pricing	More credits, original-quality downloads, and batch background removal.

The free plan is best for occasional, smaller output: its standard download ceiling may be restrictive when images need to retain their original quality. Per-image credit use gives light users a clear unit cost, while Pro is the relevant choice for original-quality downloads or batch work. Trial media is retained for 24 hours.

Platforms

Artguru runs on the web and has Android and iOS apps. That combination suits users who want to work from a browser or a mobile device; the product’s image workflow is centered on uploads and downloads.

Who it's for

This is a sensible choice for individuals and small teams making routine product cutouts, social posts, or presentation portraits, especially when they value quick background replacement over a broader editing suite. It is less suitable for people who need batch processing without Pro, consistently full-resolution output on the free tier, or assurance that uploaded images will not contribute to model improvement.

Pros and cons

Pros: Transparent PNG output plus solid-color and custom-image replacements cover the main cutout workflow in one tool.
Pros: JPG, PNG, and WEBP input and web, Android, and iOS access accommodate common files and devices.
Pros: A stated price of $0.01 per image gives occasional users a simple per-image cost to consider.
Cons: Free standard downloads top out at 1024×1024 px, limiting their use when larger output is needed.
Cons: Credits expire each subscription cycle, so unused balance does not carry forward.
Cons: Input images may be used for model improvement, with training use irreversible once incorporated.
Cons: Batch background removal requires Pro, despite the uploader's 200-image capacity.

Verdict

Choose Artguru if you want a focused background-removal workflow with replacement options across web and mobile, and your image volume fits its credit terms. Its $0.01-per-image rate is easy to weigh for occasional jobs. Look elsewhere if you need unrestricted output quality on a free plan, batch processing without Pro, or a policy that rules out using uploaded inputs to improve models.
