Overview

AssemblyFlow links service orders with projected content, stage display, and livestream tools in a Windows app, alongside Android, iOS, and web access. Its a cappella emphasis is reflected in a built-in collection of 85 shape-note hymns, but custom lyrics and bulk song imports make it useful beyond that repertoire. Data stays on the church computer, with no cloud sync or telemetry, so this suits local-control preferences better than teams seeking a shared cloud workspace.

The app works offline after activation. The maker says licenses are validated offline and projection will not stop mid-service if billing fails or a subscription lapses—a practical safeguard for live worship. Support is by email; paid plans receive email support within 24 hours.

Key features

Planning and music

Drag-and-drop service orders, templates, autosaving, undo, and seven service item types cover the core planning workflow without prescribing a single service format. The included hymns provide a useful starting point for shape-note congregations; custom lyrics and bulk imports from ChordPro, OnSong, and plain text files help churches bring in their existing songs.

Projection and streaming

Multiple-monitor projection, themed backgrounds, and standby, blackout, and logo screens give operators ways to manage what appears between service elements as well as during them. Stage display puts current and upcoming slides, timers, and private notes in view, a useful separation between what the congregation sees and what the team needs.

OBS Browser Source, OBS WebSocket controls, NDI output, and a virtual webcam connect the presentation workflow to streaming setups, including Zoom and Teams. Scripture includes BSV, KJV, and ASV for offline use; ESV and api.bible translations require external API keys and are cached locally. The built-in web remote works over church Wi-Fi and can be installed as a PWA on iOS and Android, which adds convenient control without making the service data cloud-based.

Reporting and data control

AssemblyFlow logs projected songs and exports date-range CSV reports for CCLI reporting, while keeping usage data local. That is useful for congregations that need reporting without sending usage records to a cloud service.

Pricing

The free plan is free and includes the full app for the main worship assembly with one operator, but is limited to congregations of 50 or fewer members. It is a substantial way for a small church to use the core workflow; the congregation cap and single-operator limit rule it out for larger teams or simultaneous operation.

Standard costs 20.00 USD per month or 200.00 USD per year. It covers the main worship assembly, sanctuary and livestream, OBS/YouTube/Zoom integration, unlimited songs and services, and one operator at a time. The annual price saves $40 versus monthly billing, but Standard remains a one-operator plan.

Church costs 40.00 USD per month or 400.00 USD per year, saving $80 annually versus monthly billing. It adds use in any room, class, or activity, multiple simultaneous operators, and a web remote with role permissions. This is the meaningful step up for churches coordinating several spaces or operators.

Multi-campus costs 80.00 USD per month or 800.00 USD per year, saving $160 annually versus monthly billing. It adds unlimited physical campuses, NDI broadcast across LAN, hardware switcher integration, and priority email support. Choose it when those campus and broadcast capabilities matter; otherwise, Church covers the stated multi-room and concurrent-operator needs at half the monthly price.

Platforms

AssemblyFlow supports Android, iOS, web, and Windows. The Windows app is central to its service-planning and projection purpose, while the web remote and mobile PWA provide church-Wi-Fi control from phones and tablets.

Who it's for

AssemblyFlow is best suited to local congregations that want planning, projection, stage display, and streaming connections in one system, particularly a cappella churches that can use the included shape-note collection. Its offline operation and local storage also suit churches that prefer not to rely on cloud sync. Churches that need simultaneous operators, multiple rooms, or campuses should budget for Church or Multi-campus rather than assume the free plan will scale.

Pros and cons

Pros: Planning, projection, stage display, and streaming integrations share one workflow, reducing the need to assemble separate presentation tools.
Pros: Offline operation and church-computer storage keep service data local, and the maker says projection continues through billing failure or a lapsed subscription.
Pros: Bulk imports, custom lyrics, and 85 bundled shape-note hymns accommodate both the intended a cappella audience and churches with their own song libraries.
Cons: The free plan is limited to congregations of 50 or fewer members and one operator, so it is not a growth path for larger or multi-operator teams.
Cons: Standard still permits only one operator at a time; simultaneous operators and room-level flexibility start at Church, for 40.00 USD per month.
Cons: ESV and api.bible scripture use requires external API keys, unlike the three bundled offline translations.

Alternatives

OnStage is worth considering if a free entry plan with up to five members, 200MB of storage, and five events per month better matches a small team's needs, or if MacOS support matters.

WorshipTools Presenter is a better fit for teams seeking cloud storage and support across Linux and macOS; its free plan includes 500 MB, 10 users, and 15 items per service, with unlimited services and songs.

c-SPOT is an option for readers seeking free, open-source software across a broad range of platforms, including self-hosted use.

Planning Center suits churches looking for a broader suite of free tools, including a calendar with one room and unlimited database and reporting through People.

Ministry Planner may suit churches that want web-based free tools, including scheduling for one team and up to 1,000 volunteers.

WorshipTeam.com is a paid alternative for teams that prefer a five-user group subscription at 14.00 USD per month.

Planning is another paid option, with a Solo plan at 15.00 USD per month that includes unlimited helper accounts, teams, services, and file storage.

ServeFlow: Worship Planner is a free iOS and macOS alternative.

Verdict

AssemblyFlow is a strong choice for a congregation that wants locally stored, offline-capable service planning tied directly to projection, stage display, and livestream output. Its integrated workflow and live-service continuity are compelling reasons to choose it. Look elsewhere if your team depends on cloud synchronization, or if you need multiple operators without paying for Church or Multi-campus.
