In their own words
Assertible
Assertible tests and monitors APIs, websites, and other HTTP services for uptime, availability, and correct behavior. Users create HTTP assertions, inspect request details, and review assertion results. The service can run smoke tests automatically after deployments to staging or production environments. API tests can be imported and synchronized with OpenAPI or Swagger specifications and Postman collections. Integrations listed in its documentation include GitHub deployments and status checks, Slack, PagerDuty, and Zapier. Monitoring schedules range from once per minute to once per day, with shorter intervals available on paid plans. Plans limit services, tests per service, retained results, team members, and schedule frequency rather than monthly request counts. The Personal plan costs nothing and includes two web services, 10 tests per service, 1,000 results, one to two members, and Standard monitoring with two monitors. Paid plans are Standard at $25 a month, Startup at $50 a month, and Business at $100 a month; each includes a one-month trial.
Checkly
Checkly is a monitoring-as-code platform for developers who need to monitor APIs and user interfaces. Its uptime monitor types include URL, TCP, DNS, ICMP, SSL, gRPC, Traceroute, and Heartbeat. Browser Checks use headless browsers to simulate interactions such as logins, checkouts, and form submissions. Playwright Check Suites run full test suites on a schedule and support custom dependencies and shared storage state. The Checkly CLI lets users write checks in code and deploy monitors from a terminal. Listed integrations include Slack, PagerDuty, OpsGenie, Datadog, Grafana, Discord, Terraform, and Pulumi. Checkly says its monitors run from the public internet without installation inside or privileged access to a customer network. It also states that it is GDPR compliant and SOC 2 Type 2 compliant, with end-to-end encryption for stored data, HTTPS for network traffic, and AES256 encryption for database data at rest. The Hobby plan is free; Starter is $24 a month, and Team is $64 a month. Hobby includes 10 uptime monitors, 1,000 browser/Playwright runs, and 10,000 API runs per month.
