Atomic OSSEC

Atomic OSSEC is an endpoint detection and response system that also protects cloud workloads and APIs. Its monitoring covers intrusion detection, file integrity, log management, active response, and vulnerability management. A GUI centralizes management of agents, servers, events, file integrity monitoring, rollbacks, and third-party integrations. The product lists more than 5,000 preconfigured OSSEC rules and out-of-the-box integrations for Splunk, ArcSight, ELK, and QRadar. It supports AWS, Azure, and GCP, and offers compliance reporting for frameworks including PCI DSS, HIPAA, NIST, GDPR, and CIS. Deployment can be on premises or cloud-based SaaS, including in air-gapped environments. The maker also describes support for legacy systems such as Windows, Linux, AIX, HP-UX, and Solaris, plus monitoring of operational technology without agents on sensitive equipment. A 14-day trial covers up to 10 licenses and does not require a credit card. The listed plan price is priced on request, pricing starts at $55 per agent, and bulk discounts are available; a separate pricing note says from $5/mo.

EventSentry File Monitoring

EventSentry File Monitoring tracks file additions and removals, size and SHA-256 checksum changes, and transaction-log tampering. It can gather digital certificates and entropy, which may help detect certain ransomware outbreaks. Changes can be logged to the Application event log with customizable severity and previous and new sizes or checksums. The current status of monitored files can be consolidated in the EventSentry database for comparisons across computers.

Notifications and integrations can go to email, MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL or Oracle databases, HTTP(S), Syslog, SNMP traps, and executable processes. Exported text event logs can be cryptographically signed and timestamped to help identify tampering. EventSentry says its file integrity monitoring helps with PCI requirement 11.5. The full edition is an on-premise perpetual license listed at $85 per Windows device; EventSentry Light is free for five machines. A 30-day trial is listed. The feature is listed for Linux, macOS, web, and Windows, while the detailed supported operating-system list names Windows versions from NT 4 SP6 through Server 2025.
