Overview

Atwork brings operational work and the information around it together: teams can structure data, coordinate tasks, share documents and chat, and build workflows in the same environment. External guests and published views let them share selected work without opening the whole workspace. That flexibility is useful when processes cross team boundaries; for a single-purpose form or inbox, the broader workspace may be more than the job requires.

Atwork was founded in 2021 and reports more than 10,000 teams in over 60 countries, with a 48-person team. It says it does not sell data or use private Customer Content to train third-party or foundation models. Its stated controls include encryption in transit, access controls, least-privilege practices, logging and regular security review. Its DPA describes GDPR Article 28 processing and safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions for applicable international transfers.

Key features

Multiple views over structured work

Table, board, timeline, calendar, gallery and form views use typed fields, formulas and relations. Teams can choose a view to suit a workflow while keeping structured information connected; this is more adaptable than a workspace built around one fixed presentation. Approval routing, employee request forms, workflow templates and advanced conditional logic support process design beyond basic task tracking.

AI and automation

Atwork AI can draft and summarize documents, plan and organize work, answer questions across a workspace and power automation steps. Visual workflows combine triggers, conditions, scheduled runs and AI steps. This range can reduce manual handoffs and help teams use their workspace content in context, but the AI budgets are capped by plan, so teams with frequent use should weigh those allowances against their needs.

Integrations and access

Integrations include Telegram, Slack, LinkedIn, IMAP/SMTP email, Google Calendar, CalDAV, Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Zapier and Make. An API supports reading and writing sheet data, and an MCP server connects AI assistants to the workspace. Support starts through Help center tickets, where an assistant usually replies within minutes before handing off to a person.

Pricing

Atwork is freemium, with a free plan and paid plans priced per seat. The free tier is a real starting point, but its five-member ceiling, 1,000-item limit per sheet and $1 AI budget per organization per month make it better for small teams or evaluation than for scaling a data-heavy process.

Plan	Price and terms	What it includes
Free	Free; billed $0/ forever	Up to 5 members, 1,000 items per sheet, unlimited tasks and docs, all core views, and $1 AI budget per organization per month.
Pro	12.00 USD per month; billed $12/ seat / mo; $10 billed annually ($120 per seat per year)	Unlimited members, 50,000 items per sheet, automations and workflows, dashboards and insights, custom AI agents, and $5 AI budget per seat per month.
Business	24.00 USD per month; billed $24/ seat / mo; $20 billed annually ($240 per seat per year)	Unlimited items per sheet, SSO and SAML, advanced permissions and roles, scheduled triggers and event automations, full audit log, and $15 AI budget per seat per month.
Enterprise	Custom pricing	Dedicated success manager, SCIM and DLP, data residency and audit logs, and custom AI budget and SLA.

Pro is the practical step up for teams that need more sheet capacity, workflow automation or dashboards, but it charges per seat and still caps each sheet at 50,000 items. Business doubles the monthly per-seat price for unlimited sheet items and stronger identity, permissions and audit controls, making it the more suitable choice for teams with those governance needs. Enterprise is for organizations that need dedicated support, data residency or tailored AI and service terms.

Platforms

Atwork runs on the web and provides an API. Teams needing a listed mobile or desktop app should consider whether those platforms are essential to their workflow.

Who it's for

Atwork suits teams that want to build and manage connected processes across structured data, tasks, documents and communication, especially where forms, approvals, conditional logic and automation are part of daily work. It is less compelling for a small team needing only a basic request form or an organization unwilling to take on per-seat costs as membership grows.

Pros and cons

Pros: Six views, typed data fields, formulas and relations give teams meaningful flexibility in how they organize shared work.
Pros: AI steps, visual branching, scheduled runs and integrations support workflows that span tools and processes.
Pros: Guest access and published views enable limited external sharing without granting full workspace access.
Cons: Free is limited to five members and 1,000 items per sheet, with only $1 in monthly AI budget for the organization.
Cons: Pro and Business are priced per seat, and the higher Business price is the route to unlimited sheet items and advanced controls.
Cons: Listed platforms are web and API, which may not suit teams that require native mobile or desktop apps.

Alternatives

For a focused form-collection use case, Jotform is a freemium web and mobile option with a free Starter plan offering five forms and 100 monthly submissions; choose it when those form limits are enough and a wider work OS is unnecessary. Drag is a paid shared-inbox option with Gmail inboxes and Kanban, list and preview board views, better suited when coordinating inbox work is the priority. Pipefy offers a free plan with five processes, 10 users, 50 cards created per month, 2 GB storage, 500 database records and five workflows; it is worth comparing when a process-focused setup and those caps fit.

Requester has a free plan with three approver seats, unlimited submitters, 50 requests per month, five templates, two teams, 250MB storage and 150 pooled AI actions per month, making it a more targeted option for request handling. Cflow is a paid workflow alternative with a free trial; its Joy plan costs 22.00 USD per month, requires at least 10 users and allows up to 20 workflows. ClayHR is a paid HR option starting at 7.00 USD per month per employee, with employee records, forms, PTO, timesheets and onboarding workflows; choose it when those HR functions are central.

Newployee offers a free onboarding plan limited to one active journey per month, with surveys, basic journey templates and centralized task management, so it is a narrower fit for onboarding. Sanka Flow is another freemium workflow option. Teams comparing HR workflow products can also browse HR Workflow Automation Software.

Verdict

Atwork is a strong fit for teams that want one configurable workspace for shared data, operational work and AI-assisted automation. Its views, workflow tools and external sharing make it more versatile than a narrowly scoped process tool, while its per-seat pricing and steep differences in capacity and controls demand careful plan selection. Choose it when that breadth will be used; look elsewhere when the need is only a focused form, inbox or HR workflow.
