Overview

The system covers cataloging, clerking, cashiering, accounting, mailing lists, inventory and multi-parcel auctions. Online formats include internet absentee bidding, internet-only auctions and webcast live bidding; automatic bidding is supported as well. That breadth makes Auction Flex a practical fit for auction businesses managing both the preparation and execution of sales, rather than a simple online bidding site.

Auction Flex combines downloadable desktop software, a web platform and mobile access. AuctionFlex 360 handles cataloging and sale management on the web with HiBid integration; Auction Flex v10 is the desktop product, and Auction Flex Mobile supports cataloging and clerking on phones and tablets. The company says it serves more than 4,000 customers across all 50 U.S. states, nine Canadian provinces and other countries.

Key features

Cataloging and sale operations

Auction Flex brings inventory, cataloging, clerking, checkout, accounting and mailing-list work into one auction workflow. The v10 desktop software adds configurable item types, bulk editing and AI-powered cataloging assistance, useful for teams handling large or varied catalogs. AuctionFlex 360 offers web-based cataloging and sales management, but its plans are organized around user counts rather than workstation counts.

Online bidding and integrations

HiBid provides a bidding portal and private-label web service, and users can upload auctions to their website with one click. Auction Flex can also upload auction details to AuctionZip.com using the auctioneer’s AuctionZip login. Other listed integrations and options include QuickBooks, shipping, credit-card processing, mailing lists, RF modems, driver-license check-in and touchscreen kiosks.

Global Payments provides integrated payment processing after approval and setup. Auction Flex and HiBid say they handle PCI coverage for that processing; cards may be tokenized and stored through the processor, with access potentially limited by user role. Those safeguards are useful for auctioneers handling card payments, though the processing setup depends on approval and integration keys.

Pricing

Auction Flex has a 30-day trial and a free storage tier, but its operating plans start at $85.00 USD per month. The free plan, First 25 GB cloud storage, includes 25 GB; it is a storage allowance, not a free auction-management workstation or user seat.

Plan	Price	Included setup
1 Workstation	85.00 USD per month	1 workstation; desktop software; catalog, clerk, close
Solo	95.00 USD per month	1 user on AuctionFlex 360
2 Workstations	120.00 USD per month	2 workstations; simultaneous cataloging and clerking
Team	145.00 USD per month	2–5 users on AuctionFlex 360
3 Workstations	155.00 USD per month	3 workstations for cataloging, clerking and checkout
4 Workstations	190.00 USD per month	4 workstations for a high-volume team setup
Business	195.00 USD per month	6–9 users on AuctionFlex 360
Enterprise	295.00 USD per month	Unlimited users with centralized access controls
Unlimited workstations	550.00 USD per month	Unlimited workstations

The $85 workstation plan is the entry point for a single desktop setup; it includes cataloging, clerking and closing but not the simultaneous two-workstation workflow. The $95 Solo plan instead buys one user on the web platform. Operators needing shared work should compare the $120 two-workstation tier with the $145 Team tier: the former is built around simultaneous cataloging and clerking, while the latter covers 2–5 web users. The 3- and 4-workstation plans broaden desktop capacity for checkout and higher-volume teams; Business and Enterprise expand web access by user count, with centralized controls appearing at Enterprise. Unlimited workstation coverage is a substantial jump to $550.00 USD per month, intended for operations that need many desktop seats.

HiBid costs sit outside those monthly plan prices: it charges a 2% auction fee, $0.25 per unique bid capped at $150 per auction, and a $75 webcast setup fee. Auctioneers should include those transaction and event charges when estimating total cost, especially for webcast sales.

Platforms

Auction Flex supports Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, web and Windows. The mobile apps have native Android and iOS versions, with browser access as another route for phones and tablets. This range accommodates desktop-centered auction offices as well as mobile cataloging and clerking, though the plans distinguish workstations from web users.

Who it's for

Auction Flex suits auctioneers who want one system spanning inventory and catalog preparation, sale-day clerking and cashiering, and online bidding. Smaller operators can start with one desktop workstation or one 360 web user; teams can scale by workstation or user tier. It is less compelling for a business seeking only a low-cost online auction page, since the free offer is limited to cloud storage and HiBid charges additional usage fees.

Support is available by phone Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm EST, alongside a help center and bookable training. That combination gives operators a defined weekday phone window and separate self-service and training options.

Pros and cons

Broad operational coverage: Cataloging, clerking, cashiering, inventory, accounting and mailing lists serve the work around a sale as well as bidding.
Several ways to scale: Desktop workstation tiers and 360 web user tiers let buyers choose a structure suited to their team.
Cross-platform access: Desktop, browser and native mobile options support office and sale-floor workflows across the listed operating systems.
Costs extend beyond the subscription: HiBid’s 2% auction fee, per-bid charge and webcast setup fee can materially affect the total cost of online sales.
Capacity drives price quickly: Moving from one workstation at $85.00 USD per month to unlimited workstations at $550.00 USD per month makes seat needs central to budgeting.

Auctria may suit event organizers who can work within the Explorer free plan’s $10,000 annual income, 250 bidders per event and three team members; it also charges a 1% credit-card fee.

Indy.auction is a web alternative with a Starter option at 6.00 GBP per once, percentage charges on sold lots, and no setup or subscription fees.
32auctions may be a better fit for a small online-only sale: its free plan covers one auction with up to 20 items and unlimited bidders, with third-party ads and one image per item.
Fish Auctions is a free web option if a free service is the priority.
GalaBid offers a free plan with optional participant tips, with 10% of tips shared with the cause, or a no-tip Pro option at 4.90 USD per once.

Verdict

Auction Flex is the stronger fit for auctioneers who need integrated cataloging, sale operations and multiple online bidding formats across desktop, web and mobile. Its range of workstation and user tiers supports different team shapes, but the free storage allowance is not a usable free operating plan and HiBid’s usage fees require separate budgeting. Choose it when operational breadth matters more than a lean online-only setup; look elsewhere if a free or narrowly focused auction service is the priority.
